Topic: Julian Jones singing Brian-written song Return to archive
November 28th, 2005 03:48 PM
JuanTCB Donovan is playing a recording of Julian (his step-son) singing "Thank You For Being There" on Jonesy's Jukebox on indie103.com right now.

It's kind of easy-listening reggae with Julian speak-singing the vocal.

It's pretty awful, actually.

WhenTheWhipComesDown Does Julian Jones have a British accent or an American? Just
curious.

JuanTCB His accent was pretty mild, but definitely British. He wasn't, like, "Oi! Mate! Me dad's Brian!", if you know what I mean.

Apologies to any and all British subjects for that, by the way!

Actually, based on the limited intervew clips I've seen/heard with Brian, he kind of has that same slightly raspy voice.

That said, the song is awful but pretty funny in a warped way. I think Donovan may have said that it was avaialable on his site - I poked around but couldn't find it anywhere.
