OK OK. Nothing deep about it. When I read Big Jims bio a few years ago I was impressed. I think he could be greater than Jimi.....and he may well have been. ...no to easy task. These people were transients....Big Jim and his parents...Big Jims mum was a vaudville show girl....does that surprise you???? Grandpa Hendrix (if that was the name) was a juggler or something. ) These people were in show busineess a Long time beore Jimi came along. So it ain't just about him. They knew Jimi was destined to be great.....it was known....probably back in 20's. It did Not come as a surprise.

Now that I think about it I can hardly make sense of it all my self.LOL. But I'll try to make it make some sense if I can as I at least owe a little something to the old boy. I guess it was about a year ago that I read Old Hendrix's obit. I mean it was really nothing special. But
I guess you could say that I kind of fell in love with the guy a bit. I sensed reading between the lines that he was a lovely human being...genuine...genuinely a nice guy. Sometimes I have a hard time time thinking of our "rock stars" as actually being human. My own tendency (and I'm working on stopping it) is to indulge in what I like to call "mindless hero worship". Kind of a hangover of a misspent youth I guess. Personally I love Hendrix...Band of Gypsy's is probably the best live album ever made. Wish I had it right now.

Huh? I must not be very articualte? Sorry, maybe just grasping at straws from a confused mental state LOL. No really I have kind of a facination with geneologys. I think they're more important than what the modern common wisdom suggests. I have my "parents" traits too much I think. The good and the bad...can't shake it ..it just ...well....IS.
I'm trying to say that Hendrix people were show biz any way.
JImi just didn't appear out of nowhere. Hey Keith didn't either....all this is no accident. Some luck maybe but no accident. Anyone ever trace the Stones back??? That's got to be profound. If I had time I would but I just don't have the time LOL. I know Keith's granddad Gus was some kind of musician but thats all I know.

Al and Jimi seemed to have a very good relation, love shows on all their pics, Al respected jimi, and helped him carry his dreams out. A good, reliable father, a good son, both loving and caring, poets. Compatible characters.
