Topic: Where's Ronnie? - Part II Return to archive

KeepRigid Okay, I got Mick's new cd today, (and also a very cool promo hanging of the album cover), but Ronnie was nowhere to be found!

I figured the chain stores wouldn't stock it, but not even the independent record stores could find it in their computers.

Did anyone find it today?

sandrew I don't think it's available domestically. Amazon is offering it as an import, though:

winter Newbury Comics in Boston had a couple of copies (I don't know if there are any Newbury Comics locations outside of Massachusetts). I picked it up, but I haven't had a chance to give it a listen yet. No CD player in the office.

KeepRigid Damn. Not another import.

Anyone have it in mp3 yet?

Angiegirl I got it last monday in a store in Holland, not one of the large chains that keep prizes artificially high here. Just a store with some more alternative rock and pop, dance and metal, though quite a big store. They also sell online: www.plato.nl.
Don't know if they sell Ronnie Wood's album online and if so, if they deliver overseas to US and how much dollars it will be for u guys.
I paid $16.

I like it a lot BTW, it's for when you're in a reflective, introspective, peaceful kinda mood. It's totally different from Slide on (live) for example.

Nellcote Just got back from the record store, picked it up.
It is only an import, the Newbury Comics I went to in N. Attleboro Mass had only one copy, they got it on 11/16.
No US release date yet, although probably 02 near the tour?
"Ronald Wood, he can play the blues as best he knows"
to quote old pal Rod from Overture and Beginners.
This album reflects that statement. It's a family affair,
with his daughter and son on several cuts. "Hypershine"
has stuck with myself so far. Some cuts, the vocal mix could have been done better, bring Ron's voice up. The reprise of "Interludings" does take one back to circa 1973.
Ron puts together part of the lineup of his first album, with Mac, Andy Newmark, etc. There is no "Fire", but it
is good to hear his vocals again. The sporadic live albums,
with other singers just don't cut it. Only hearing it once thru to date, there are parts that do stay with you.
All and all, ANYTHING that comes out from Ron, is good to
have. Great pedal steel guitar.

Anyone know when the Hubert Sumlin album w/Keith on it comes out?
