time is on my side This is showing up on the fan club site. It seems they actually played 20 songs with ONNYA being played after It's Only rock and Roll. Nice setlist and would love to hear She was Hot, Loving Cup, ATPTB, and Connection live . My one complaint about the entire Bigger Bang Tour is that they never really mix up the second part of the show. The same warhorses night after night outside the few odd changes here or there.

Well on second thought, I do have other complaints but they're better left unsaid. TIME marches on. The STONES still put on one great show. The people tonight seem to have gotten a very good show.

Didn't catch that, but did notice Woody leaning/sitting on a stool quite often.
Not sure what was up with that - bad back maybe?

Seemed like there was some sort of inside joke going on with the band.
During the intros Charlie wasn't at his kit, but when Mick introed him he mock hobbled out from behind the amps.

Keef, however, showed no sign of whatever may have plagued him earlier on this leg.
He was on fire!

And Mick was in top form.

If it was my last drink from their Loving Cup, it was a very sweet one...

lotsajizz just back, crashed with friends in Ridgefield CT on the way back so as to avoid the Trop--I had doubts the boys would make it--

well, they proved me wrong....full review to follow, but this was a solid B+ show, nice setlist...especially the Hot/Cold bookends....Keith continues his improvement over the September debacles...Mick's voice was low in the mix, but sounded decent....Woodie was the sloppiest I've seen in a while, the sound was mediocre for a smaller venue....at least where we sat

what is with old fucks who insist on sitting at a rockshow!??!?

Bad legs perhaps, but rocking in their heart & souls! They were probably rocking to the Stones before you were born. Hope you can still rock when you're in your 60's.

I arrived in AC at 7PM. Scored a ticky from the box office for $150.00 which put me in section H. Great seats and I was only 30 ft. away from the B stage. Had a couple of glasses of Merlot at the Shidoobee party. the Stones started at 9.30ish. It took them a couple of songs to get crankin, but once they hit warp speed, they were BLISTERING.
Standouts for me in an almost flawless set were SOL,All down the line[Ronnies slide was a joy], Tumbling Dice, The whole B Stage set, Loving cup, Sympathy, Aint too proud and Satisfaction.
Keith must have been on real good stroke meds cause he seems to have made a 100% recovery. He was just having a ball and his 2 songs were a joy. His voice is really comng along. Better watch your back Mick!
After the show I went to the Trop to say hi to fellow ROs, but didn't see anyone , so I drove home.
All in all, just a fantastic show and a fantastic band. If anyone "n the know" is reading this, I need to play at least once with this band. My life will never be fulfilled unless I can jam with the greatest rock n roll band ever. Amen!

Rolling Stones start ’em up at Boardwalk Hall in A.C.
By STEVEN V. CRONIN Staff Writer, (609) 272-7242

ATLANTIC CITY — The Rolling Stones arrived three weeks late for their scheduled show, but fans didn’t hold it against the band as they brought their “Bigger Bang Tour” to Boardwalk Hall on Friday night.

The crowd of 12,000 fans got to their feet as the band opened with “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and didn’t sit down again for much of the show.

Stones frontman Mick Jagger mentioned neither the band’s decision to postpone the original Oct. 27 concert because Jagger suffered a sore throat, nor the recent death of his father.

But he did win the crowd over with a joke about Atlantic City’s status as a gambling town.
“Funny place, Atlantic City,” he said. “You arrive from New York on a private plane. You leave for New York on a bus.”
But Jagger didn’t spend much time talking. Dressed in black jeans and a black T-shirt after he had opened the show in a blue blazer, the bantamweight rock star preened, strutted and danced across the Boardwalk Hall stage during a set that included gems like “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” and “It’s Only Rock and Roll,” new tunes like “Oh No, Not You Again” and obscure numbers like “She Was Hot.”

Jagger was in constant motion, and guitarist Keith Richards prowled the area with a succession of guitars. But Ron Wood remained anchored in place, blending into the background of a spare stage set.

Richards, wearing a headband and looking more than usual like Captain Jack Sparrow, handled the vocals for the songs “You Got The Silver” and “Connection.” Richards got a warm reception as he chatted with the audience before singing.

Referring to Jagger’s vocal troubles and last month’s postponed show, Richards said he was sorry the band was late “but, (stuff) happens.”

Richards added that he was happy to be in Atlantic City, but in a seeming sly reference to his former heroin addiction, he added, “I always say it’s good to be anywhere.”

The band’s problem filling the big stage was highlighted by the best part of the show, when the Stones and bassist Darryl Jones all crowded together on a small portion of the stage, which was then transported to the center of the Hall.

The people who had front-row seats suddenly found themselves staring at the back of Charlie Watts’ drum kit.
But the show seemed to reach critical mass due to the band’s close proximity to one another. Watching the 63-year-old Jagger strut and jump up and down with excitement in songs that included “Under My Thumb,” “She’s So Cold” and “Start Me Up” gave credence to the Stones’ reputation as the world’s biggest rock n’ roll band.

The show also proved that the Stones are consummate professionals, even as they approach an age when most consider retirement.

Few but the diehard fans knew Jagger was playing despite the death of his father Saturday, or that Wood was similarly mourning the death of a brother.

Watching Richards work the riffs on “Honky Tonk Women” made it easy to forget the injuries he suffered after falling out of a palm tree in Fiji last April, while Watts’ pounding drums seemed to offer proof that he has recovered from a recent battle with cancer.

The crowd was an odd mix: grandmothers in Sally Jesse Raphael glasses and black concert T-shirts, middle-aged parents bringing their teenage children to see how a “real” rock band sounds, and just enough young women in tight miniskirts and young men with buzz cuts to let the audience think it was young … and to overlook the fact that Jagger’s hair is still inexplicably dark for his age.

The Hall was practically empty for Soulive, a trio that took the stage promptly at 8 p.m. Stones fans might not have been eager to spend time with a warm-up band, but these guys were eager to play and show their stuff.

Fronted by a singer, Touissant, the 40-minute set was a mix of jazz, funk, reggae and rock.

chevysales great show...i loved it... made bstage rail corner of keiths side and front {anyone get any clear bstage shots the ones above show me blurred} never saw keith "hand over" so many pics just placing them in fans hands. he ran out of pics at bstage and started to take them from ronnie's mic stand to give out.

Hey guys why no "event t shirts" heck vegas got one... they are selling way too much overstock stuff from last year and licks. But damn anyone (guys especially) notice lisa's ehh how should i say...chest/boobs? they had a life of their own on stage like i have never seen before. they bounced to the beat like never before. recent work done or just what she wore? since she wore outfit before i'd go with the "work" angle

keith posed with his guitar for one fan to take pic very nice gesture from him.

mick made mention of playing there in 89 ppv (wish we had dvd then as my vcr copy is played out) and having john lee hooker and eric clapton as guest.

sound sucked for last two songs i caught from opener and vocals bad on first song of show but evened out from there... probably had to lower them in mix to make up for sound at hall... but charlies drums were loud as hell as were both guitars and yes keith played his with a vengence. i don't think ronnie was sloppy at all and he hit a couple of good solo's. everyone has an opinion i guess... just wonder if poster above was ever pleased at any show this tour or last? and i don't mean that as an insult but maybe expectations are too high?

SOL ... first time i can say WOW...loved the ending to it last nite...mick poured his heart into it.

different tempo on brown sugar and a few others which as usual with many stones stage songs they sometimes start out like a train wreck and come together or are together thru song and end like a train wreck... something the stones have always done during their career. but the different tempo for 1 or 2 songs was evident and i am sure by design.

no complaints on setlist as they were spilling there blood on the stage.

if this was it... thanks to the rolling stones for shows 1975 gator bowl jacksonville, florida thru atlantic city 2006...
thanx for the great show nites and ups and down of ticket hunts... and to my brother who brought home let it bleed in late 60's when i was listening to jefferson airplane and started this "connection" for me.

LadyJane Can't quite get my head around all of this just yet.

Lots of LJ life experiences came full circle last night.

I'm gonna go sit and look at the ocean. It's a beautiful sunny day on the AC Boardwalk.

The show was amazing...probably my CLOSE number 2 to MSG 01/20.

One thing is crystal clear....this band can still deliver the goods!!

EVERY member was firing on all cylinders last night...and Mick Jagger.......what can I say??? The man's energy defies all logic. He mezmerises the entire room and holds us all in the palm of his hand.

I promised to be one of the last to leave Boardwalk Hall. Proud to say security politely asked me to leave when I started to get in the way of the roadies who were dismantling the stage.

yea i stayed in there along time too... also tried to get set list from all sound guys but too late... bernard, lisa and blondie threw many into audience as usual. btw...did you get that bag back? the one lost in front of door next to yours ... too funny i thought someone left us room service we didn't order

i had a great time tropciana is a nice place...

now a day off and taking off for our 25th anny (i can't believe we made it soooooooooooooo long although being able to do or own thing without it creating turmoil made it easier i suppose) and my 51st to mohegan sun for few days as wife felt left out with me going to a casino twice in past month. actaully sorry i didn't bring her full cirle as our first together was 78 and she didn't even like them other than a few songs till steel wheels.

and your darn rite it was sunny this morning when i left.

one last thing...first for me at concert...waiting in line for bathroom and paramedics burst in with cops...guy passed out on floor in front of urinals dead drunk i assume but damn he was soaking wet and rest assured it wasn't water he was wet from.

Throwaway excellent show IMO...sat in section 105 (portal C), row E. Opening act was better than I expected, and the Ocean was a cool one for them to play. Seeing She Was Hot, Loving Cup, Ain't too Proud, You Got the Silver, and Connection for the first time in the 4 shows I've been too was a real treat. They faltered a bit during Under My Thumb an the end of Paint It Black, but I was having too good a time to care. After the show headed up to the Trinity restaurant/pub area and chilled while the traffic went away. Hope all Rocks Offers enjoyed the show!

Can a concert review be any more trite? Who was it who wrote that mock, fill-in-the-blank Stones review that had all the inevitable Stones cliches? It was at the beginning of the tour ... One of the greatest posts I've ever read on this board.

19th November 2006 09:47 AM
lotsajizz They have really improved on this leg of the tour as a band. Well, Mick is not quite as strong, but he's dancing like a motherfucker...and Charlie is already at the top, so he has not improved....but KEITH!!! Thank god he quit his bottle every half hour before going on or whatever it was that created the September debacles. He was all over the place on Friday night and his playing was back to the levels seen pre-fall from the tree. This is inspiring me to hink overseas next spring and summer when they resume. I still wish he'd play on 'Silver' (which is a pale imitation of 1999) but 'Connection' makes me Happy!! I had BIG doubts he could come back but he has!!! Viva Le Keith!!!

Hey there everyone...I am all recouped and refreshed...I am writing this while listening to RS radio on Sirius...w/ a cup of Earl Grey (w/ honey) My Glimmer Twins are napping...ahhhh PEACE!!!!!

....I look at the setlist that was posted...I smile a bit...take another sip...close my eyes a minute...opening them I still find myself smiling...and I begin writing...

...Friday nite seems like a blur and so long ago...but at the same time it all seems like I am still there...the hot times for me, besides the fact that the band actualy showed up, was the 1-2-3-4-5 punch of the songs above...w/ great bonus' of PIB, SSC, and UMT!!!

I was in the next to last row of the furthest section to the stage (212)...My seats were fine since the place was so small...but because the fat slob behind me (in the last row) INSISTED on lettting EVERYONE know that he knew ALL the words to every song (including the ABB songs!, I chose to venture to my own space...I ended up 2 rows from the floor directly in front of B stage...I couldn't figure out how to get to the floor. I was enjoying myself, so decided to just "stay the course" and enjoy the show w/o pre-occupying myself w/ "getting down there".

SWH was a blast...I have always loved that song...I cant imagine why they haven't tossed that little gem into the mix...it was as big an MTV hit as anything else on TY or since...Loving Cup was like a mixed blessing to me...Honored that I witnessed it live (finally), though the arrangment left me a bit off...same with Under My Thumb...a bit too slowed down...talking to others after the show at ACB&G, they seemed to have agreed. But we all agreed that they were still great to hear live!!!

I can't recall if i ever saw Ain't Too Proud To Beg...I have to check the setlists pages...I totally enjoyed that as well as a ressurection of All Down The Line.

At the B Stage... Start Me Up was enjoyable...I really can't stand the song...but I think it is much more enjoyable from the B stage...w/o the pyrotechnics...the contrivity of it as an opener...from the B stage...it kinda brings me back the those basic vids from Tattoo You...simple, lip-synched and FUN!!!

Charlie and the band shined thru SFTD as well as a really tight version of Paint It Black. Mick even hit a few of those cat screeching "baby...What's my Name?"s

Glad I made it...really glad...my last show? Honestly, I don't know, but if it is...I am glad I didn't get Omaha'd or even Halifaxed.

See ya on the boards!!!
