Taher Boukhzar, one of the Master Musicians of Jajouka, is in immediate
need of surgery to remove a non-cancerous tumor. The tumor is operable,
and with the right surgery he should make a full recovery, however,
without surgery he will die. The Master Musicians have already spent
several thousand dollars getting tests and searching for the right
doctor who could do the surgery in Morocco. They finally found a
Moroccan doctor trained in Paris who can do the procedure, and will do
it at cost, which will be $3,500, but who needs to be paid that amount
up front. Because of the Master Musicians US tour cancellation, the
group is in serious need of financial help to take care of one of their
most adored members. We are humbly coming to friends and fans of
Jajouka asking for any financial support you can offer. We need the
support of the community of people with ties to Jajouka, or who have
appreciation of the musical gift Jajouka offers to the world. If you can
help in any way, please email me back as soon as possible and I will let
you know where funds can be sent.

Well you know Morrocco, they make like a cent an hour when they have paid work. In reality it is very sad that this situation exists, but if they weren't loosely connected with a certain dead star who'd care? |

Is it joujouka or jajouka? I was just reading an old issue of MOJO, and they have it spelled as "joujouka." Is this some kind of a scam? |
