We know Mick is on fire so I figure not to include him.
But out of, Robert Plant, Rod Stewart, Keith Richards & Bob Dylan.
As of today, I'd say, in order...
Robert.
Rod.
Keith & Bob tied for last.
Hard to rate but these 4 are slipping away...
But Keith n' Bob write music today to fit their voice no?
I mean they can all put out a rocking tune but singing to it, would be the struggle.
Do you think they both write to accommodate their voice.

None of these guys sing how they used to but I guess I'd go....
I'm not sure about Robert Plant since I don't listen to him...but I guess his voice would sound the less worn here.
Then Rod, Keith, and Bob.

Yeah, out of those 4, Plant has the best for the kind of music he does and still try to keep up w/ it.
Plant is still very good at ballads.

Did Bob Dylan ever sound good...lol?
However he is a great song writer and somewhat an innovator.
A living Legend that has seen it all and done a whole hell of a lot.
One of a kind.

Plant sounds much better now than he did back during the Zeppelin IV/Houses of the Holy days. He sounds much more earthy now, not so much like the sound of two cats fucking.
The loss of the "old" Keith Richards voice is one of the most tragic things to ever happen. That guy had such a pretty voice back then. A constant reminder of why I don't smoke. |

Bob sounded different on a lot of projects. That gutteral, almost "talking" singing he did/does was something he used
for the place he was in at the time. He could sing in a more mellow, conventional voice when he wanted to. My husband, a huge fan, went to see him a couple of months ago and said it's just sad now. He won't go back to another concert. Sometimes I guess it just IS time to stop touring...

No Keith for me, he's got a terrible voice, the thing about Bob Dylan, he's been considered one of the all time worst singers of all time, but I loved his early stuff like "Like A Rolling Stone" it would have to be Robert Plant, if he can pull of the vocals he did years ago, he's the winner. |
