I saw it, I thought it was done excellently.
Lennon was the fucking man. Him and George were the coolest Beatles and hopefully they're up there jamming away... |

In 1980 most people thought Chapman committed the murder of John Lennon to gain the fame that had eluded him during his life. It was very evident that Chapman still enjoys his association with Lennon.....that is the shame. No remorse, nothing! |

Saw it.
My take.
This program could have been edited to an hour in length, was poorly paced and gave that sick fuck too much attention. The info could have been imparted with less focus on the asshole (attention he craves) and less photos etc., discussion (repeated) of him. The last hour was so drawn out it was ridiculous. They better NEVER let him out of prison. Never.
Take it away Bobby:
Fat man lookin' in a blade of steel
Thin man lookin' at his last meal
Hollow man lookin' in a cottonfield
For dignity
Wise man lookin' in a blade of grass
Young man lookin' in the shadows that pass
Poor man lookin' through painted glass
For dignity
Somebody got murdered on New Year's Eve
Somebody said dignity was the first to leave
I went into the city, went into the town
Went into the land of the midnight sun
Searchin' high, searchin' low
Searchin' everywhere I know
Askin' the cops wherever I go
Have you seen dignity?
Blind man breakin' out of a trance
Puts both his hands in the pockets of chance
Hopin' to find one circumstance
Of dignity
I went to the wedding of Mary-lou
She said ÒI don't want nobody see me talkin' to youÓ
Said she could get killed if she told me what she knew
About dignity
I went down where the vultures feed
I would've got deeper, but there wasn't any need
Heard the tongues of angels and the tongues of men
Wasn't any difference to me
Chilly wind sharp as a razor blade
House on fire, debts unpaid
Gonna stand at the window, gonna ask the maid
Have you seen dignity?
Drinkin' man listens to the voice he hears
In a crowded room full of covered up mirrors
Lookin' into the lost forgotten years
For dignity
Met Prince Phillip at the home of the blues
Said he'd give me information if his name wasn't used
He wanted money up front, said he was abused
By dignity
Footprints runnin' cross the silver sand
Steps goin' down into tattoo land
I met the sons of darkness and the sons of light
In the bordertowns of despair
Got no place to fade, got no coat
I'm on the rollin' river in a jerkin' boat
Tryin' to read a note somebody wrote
About dignity
Sick man lookin' for the doctor's cure
Lookin' at his hands for the lines that were
And into every masterpiece of literature
for dignity
Englishman stranded in the blackheart wind
Combin' his hair back, his future looks thin
Bites the bullet and he looks within
For dignity
Someone showed me a picture and I just laughed
Dignity never been photographed
I went into the red, went into the black
Into the valley of dry bone dreams
So many roads, so much at stake
So many dead ends, I'm at the edge of the lake
Sometimes I wonder what it's gonna take
To find dignity

Well, better let him out... I'm sure someone will make fair & rough justice to the bastard, a chinese torture and iron maiden torture will be good before a slow agony
Let's put the bastard naked seated at a bucket with a rat inside, then put fire at the bottom of the bucket to see where the rat is gonna scape
BTW, I didn't see the program which channel? They repeat everything |

I remember when I was a kid it happened. There is a bakery in my home town that is right in the middle of things. The next day walking to school I seen right on the side of the bakery's brick wall someone just wrote simply Lennon with spray paint.
I am surely against writing graffiti and everything but I tell you nobody ever spray painted over it or touched the entire wall. It was like sacred or something in remembering him and giving respect. It stayed there for years until the put on an addition.
Strange.

Regretfully, I wasted two hours of my life last night watching it, or I should say, watching a glorified profile of what I already knew.
Chapman is a waste of human flesh.
Actually, in all due respect to Lennon, this program should have covered more of HIS life.

My sentiments exactly. The fact his name is still being mentioned or there is a national TV program showing an interview with him is the kind of attention he sought. Something that would lift him from obsurity. From what I've heard, he shows no real regret expect the obligatory "I'm sorry or I apologize".
A human life was wasted away, cut short for no other purpose except someone wanted to get their name in the paper & forever have their name linked with Lennon's. Let this piece of human filth rot away.

Thanks Martha, the words to the song sent are the best I've seen.
Who sings it anyway?
Mark Chapman is obviously a very sick, disturbed man. This is NOT and excuse just part of an explanation. He should never be
released from prison, cos he will do it again to another person of
his choice. He should have never been able to buy the gun
that he used to murder John. This is one of the comments brought
out in another TV show a long time back.
He does NOT deserve any attention from the media whatsoever.
Charles Manson is another attention seeking killer. Giving them
this attention only reinforces their delusions. If it is repeated I would like to see it too. He is where belongs in prison, and hopefully will stay there until his death. Maybe they have to keep
him from other prisoners cos other inmates could try to kill him for
what he did. Like what that guy did to Jeffrey Daumer, yes indeed!
If by some horrible mistake he IS released someone on the outside
will kill him. |

Bob Dylan. He sang it at a show we caught last year on November 4th in Columbus.
I love your name,

Absolutely. That goes without saying.
I agree.......no more oxygen you bastards! Watching this show last night was a mistake, it did nothing but depress me. All those psycho fucks who want notoriety for their depravity are unable to feel any compassion. It's creepy.

i agree with martha and pammy. the show could have been an hour and focused too much on the man whose name we must never mention. so he had a bad childhood. so did alot of people. so he couldn't fit in. many kids face the same problem.
it did, however, bring me back...i was 7 and sadly it was my first introduction to the beatles. the show helped me to remember what a priceless human being lennon was. i was almost in tears when they got to the moment of the murder.
he will never be let out of prison. the parole board is wise enough to realize someone will off him within half hour of his release. |
