Stones fan's anger at street name
Rolling Stones fans are upset by a U-turn on plans to name a street in Gloucestershire after the band's late guitarist.
Brian Jones Close was to make up part of a new development in the Park area of Cheltenham, where houses are selling upwards of £300,000.
But prospective buyers complained that the guitarist's rock star lifestyle was not appropriate to represent the area.
Bryant Homes agreed to rename the street after the founder of the town's Literature Festival, John Moore.
Some fans have expressed displeasure at the decision.
David Reynolds of the Brian Jones Fan Club told the BBC: "I thought what a shame, here we go again: wouldn't it be fantastic to live in Brian Jones Close and have the fan club based there?"
Born and buried in Cheltenham, Brian Jones died at the age of 27.
Other famous person street names in Cheltenham include Brosnan Drive and Lazenby Court - a neighbourhood of spy actors nestling beside the GCHQ building.
