Bono is at a U2 concert in Glasgow when he asks
the audience for some quiet. Then in the silence,
he starts to slowly clap his hands.
He says into the microphone...
"Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies."
A voice from near the front pierces the silence...
"Well, stop fucking clapping then." |

I don't know if it's a true story, but he does do that clapping thing in concert.
He's quite the pompous ass.

Here's another:
How many members of U2 does it take to screw in a light bulb?
One. Bono holds a light bulb and the universe revolves around his ass.

I have an admission to make. At this precise moment I am playing U2's Mysterious Ways on the air. I am also wearing a U2 tee shirt! Yes,it's true. However, the only reason that I am playing U2 is because they are on the playlist, and the only reason that I am wearing this damned U2 tee is becasue it's one of the few clean shirts that I have at the moment. That is how I know it's time to do laundry. When I get down to the U2 Slane Castle August 25,2001 tour tee that a former girlfriend gave me it's a sign of laundry apocalypse. So there. Please don't hold it against me.

Is it a fvckin crime to like U2 around here? Bono and the U2 boys are very cool IMO.
Does anyone want to read my Bono story? They played Roseland a small club in NYC around 1981, and I was with my friend Cate. She had a rockin bod, I mean DD's and a gorgeous face, and an outgoing personality. She was a big Bono fan, and we were right up front yelling, waving and calling out to him. Obviously we got his attention! After the show he came over to us (her in particular) and introduced himself, bought us drinks, and hung out in the bar drinking beer. They went backstage together and he fvcked her brains out. She's still in love with him, lol. |

Otter and Mrs. Dean Vernon Wormer. Later that night:
BTW, Animal House was filmed in my hometown, Eugene, Oregon. A number of my friends appear as extras, as does local music legend Robert Cray (first guitarist in Otis Day and the Knights). |

U2 are touring Oz right now. The other night, Bono got up on stage with Kylie Minogue and duetted on "Kids". You should see the guy trying to be "funky".
Footage should be on youtube somewhere. |

Hmmmmm...
According to my web research, Bono started dating his wife, Alison "Ali" Hewson in 1975, and married her in August, 1982.
While I have no problem with rock stars (or anyone, for that matter) being promiscuous and/or cheating on their steady girlfriend, it seems a little hypocritical for "holier than thou" Bono to be engaging in such behavior. |

Not doubting the veracity of your story, but U2 played several shows at The Ritz, not Roseland, in late '81 and early '82. |
