mac_daddy so far, so good...

it is great to hear "around and around" and "little red rooster"

_____

(not my notes)

Rolling Stones
Knebworth Fair
Knebworth Estate, Hertfordshire, England
8/21/1976

Source: SNB (A-/B+) and AUD (B)
Lineage: My silvers > ITunes (Mac v4.6) with verification > AIFF > xACT (Mac v1.4.8) > Flac
Taped by: ??
Transferred by: ??

Bootleg Title: Knebworth! (Red Devil)
Total File Size: 954MB (FLAC)
Artwork included (which is great, by the way)

Setlist:

Disc 1
1 Intro/(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
2 Ain't Too Proud To Beg
3 Medley - If You Can't Rock Me/Get Off My Cloud
4 Hand Of Fate
5 Around And Around
6 Little Red Rooster
7 Stray Cat Blues*
8 Hey Negrita
9 Hot Stuff
10 Fool To Cry
11 Star Star
12 Let's Spend The Night Together
13 You Gotta Move
14 You Can't Always Get

Disc 2
1 Dead Flowers
2 Route 66
3 Wild Horses
4 Honky Tonk Women
5 Country Honk
6 Tumbling Dice
7 Happy*
8 Nothing From Nothing*
9 Outta Space*
10 Midnight Rambler
11 It's Only Rock'N Roll*
12 Brown Sugar*
13 Rip This Joint*
14 Jumpin' Jack Flash*
15 Street Fighting Man

All SNB except *(AUD)

Notes:

As far as I can tell this is a clone of Hot August Night but I can't compare directly. The sound quality varies as the source changes from SNB to AUD, but it is the complete show. Also the balance is a bit off in places especially at the beginning, where the vocals sound a bit distant. This may have been due in part, to Jagger wandering around the huge stage and using different mics. They also have some monitor feedback problems around the middle of disc 1.

Bloozy,

Your not referring to "Gimme Gimme Gimme" by Black Flag, circa 1982, are you? That tune and others like it were mainstays of my college education, back when punk was really real. This is poetry, man.

(Performed tempo mego rapido)

Gimme gimme gimme,
I need some more.
Gimme gimme gimme,
Don't ask what for.
Sitting here
Like a loaded gun,
I'm waiting to go off.
I've got nothing to do
But shoot my mouth off.
Gimme gimme gimme,
Give me some more.
Gimme gimme gimme,
Don't ask what for.
You know the world's got problems,
I've got problems of my own.
They ain't the kind
That can't be solved
With an atom bomb.
Gimme gimme gimme,
Give me some more.
Gimme gimme gimme,
Dont ask what for.
You know i gotta go out,
Get something for my head.
If I keep on doing this
I'm gonna end up dead.
Gimme gimme gimme,
Give me some more.
Gimme gimme gimme,
Don't ask what for

Worst show i don t know, but very surprising for sure!!Miss you sounds disco, the intro on star star is very funny too, well i this this show is kind of unique..Jagger is very tired, guitarists are too stoned, and bill and charlie are in a strange mood...and the opener of new barbarians is very brutal too.
of course HG is far far better

Soldatti Your're right Jumacfly but that show sucked, just my opinion.

Nasty Habits I LOVE the intro to Starfucker on Blind Date. One of the all time biggest bus wrecks in Stonesian history! With the wrecked, completely wrong-o Prodigal Son and the necessity is the mother of invention ending to JJF, this is indeed as lousy as the Stones ever played, but there is a certain majesty in the badness this night, as opposed to other more lackluster badness . . .

Currently --

Neil Young, Perfect Echo, Vol 1, CD 1 --

The live version of Mr. Soul that opens this CD is flat out the best live rock and roll cut I've heard in a LONG time -- the guitars sound like Television!! So good I played it on my radio show Saturday.

Got my MASSIVE package, SS -- thanks a million. I am going to be pulling gems out of that hat for a long long time.

Nasty Habits The Perfect Echo SS sent me is 10 CDs -- one more vol. of older material and 1 vol. updated stuff from the 2002 Booker T. & a little 2003. . . .

Gotta love the best performances available from individual shows compiled by total devotees of a particular artist's fan base . . .
