sirfito T&A: a friend of mine (guitarist Bonzo Morelli) gift to me at my birthday (september 2). It's just a copy but I like it!
He (ALVIN LEE) made a very nice version of "I'm Goin' Home" (6 min.+) and a great rock'n roll: "Rock And Roll Girls".
He plays with DJ Fontana, Scotty Moore and many others.
A GREAT ALBUM!!!!
Cheers,
Fito

M.O.W.A.T. Just picked up a 4 disc box set called: "A History of UK blues and R&B 1955-2001"

It's got stuff on it from:

Lonnie Donegan
Blues Inc.
Cyril Davies All-Stars
The Yardbirds (a kick ass live version of Let It Rock recorded at the Crawdaddy Club)
The Animals
The Kinks
The Pretty Things
John Mayall
Jeff Beck
Clapton and Page
Fleetwood Mac

and the list goes on!

A great set altogether.

Nasty Habits Faces box set.

Currently obsessed with that Temptations cover on disc 4 -- I Wish It Would Rain.

Is that REALLY Ronnie on lead guitar? I swear to god his runs and fills sound just like Mick Taylor on that song.

Martha Dylan....

Blonde On Blonde SACD
Highway 61 SACD
Blood On The Tracks SACD
Field Recordings Thanks Lil'Brian!
Time Out of Mind (this one reallyneeds to be available as a SACD)

I've been depressed recently and listening to Dylan always helps me when I feel this way. I'm also reading a bio on Dylan by Howard Sounes right now. It is excellent.

Nasty, I wanted to let you know that I ordered "Shakey"!

S&K --

Advances came out this week to record stores/radio stations.

It pretty much sounds like Tom Waits -- galumphing Swordfish Trombone riddims, off kilter guitar solos, lyrics about sins of the fathers, etc. etc.

Enjoy Shakey, Martha -- I know you will. Sorry to hear you're down! Nothing to cheer ya up like a little Love and Theft! Oh, and y'll be glad to hear I'm back on the radio after seven years of hiatus! Viva WPVM!

Currently: Lou Reed - New York. Been years. Good record.

cool! Have you picked up Rich Robinsons new solo cd "Paper" yet? It came out last week. It rocks.

I've been listening to a lot of Who lately. Finally started to actually get into them. And the Faces box set is awesome.

EDIT:

if you are interested in downloading (via Bit Torrent) the recordings i made of rich robinson and his band, they are currently available here...
