I'd like to dedicate my favorite song to The Brian Jones Fan Club:

Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere
A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill,
everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

(chorus)

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlight people

that was very moving

good to have you back

Had I been alive during the 60's, I could have accurately predicted this turn of events and saved some folks a lot of trouble as well as the headaches and stomach aches associated with being forced to look at that ridiculous bust.

On the topic of Busts, I seen several of them in Vegas, of particular humor was the group of "sperm depositories" that were sitting outside of the night club in Ceasars crying because one of their friends heard that some one told someone else that they were a bitch and that is why they could not get in the club to meet Nick Lachey!

Also funny how they seperated the line entering the casino into two other lines....one of them fit the criteria of the women who were in the front row of Micks Goddess in the Doorway show, while the other line was full of guys (all dressed in the same tight black shirt and pants) and women who were not blond with fake breasts.

The irony of all of this is that they had the line right next to the sportsbook and poker room, so all of the men betting on sports and playing poker were distracted by a sight similar to amateur night at Polecats Gentlemans Club.

No - you dont have the right. Thats where you're wrong.

Pretty much every famous celebrity who has died unexpectedly before their time has had some people saying there was a conspiracy or cover up of some sort

You can reel them off - Marilyn, JFK, Brian Jones, Jim Morrison, Elvis, John Lennon, Pope John Paul I, Princess Diana, Kurt Cobain. Plenty more where that came from. Very rarely does it seem that famous people can die suddenly and unexpectedly without someone not accepting the 'official' reason for it.

In some cases, they may have reason to be suspicious. However, being a fan of someone's public work doesnt give you or anyone "the right" to anything. You're not related to the person, and nor do you own or know them.

I wouldnt be caught dead drinking Rolling Rock or visiting a vegas Strip Club! there are plenty of girls "just dancing so they can pay for school" all over the country; there are not many places that offer the cuisine or quality poker rooms that Las Vegas does. Going to Vegas to go to a strip club makes about as much sense as someone from Chicago driving down to Gary, IN for vacation.

I was shocked to find out that many who were Dead fans despise Phish? Is this true?? It is outside my realm of familiarity, but it does intrigue me.

jb: please add lavendar to your moisturizing as I fear your excessive tan will cause your skin to turn to jerky. This will not help the IBS!!!!!

I am not too familiar with Phish, so I don't really have an opinion on them (I do like their cover of Loving Cup though).

It is analagous to many people liking Pearl Jam and Temple of the Dog, but despising Stone Temple Pilots and Creed.

The Dead fans who don't like Phish are often a slightly older generation than the fans who like both.

JOHNNYSTONED BRIAN JONES BY ALL ACCOUNTS WAS AN ALCOHOLIC/ DRUG ADDICT
JUST LIKE MANY OTHER PEOPLE THEN AND NOW. MANY LIKE HIM HAVE DIED AND MANY OTHERS GIVEN THE CHANCE HAVE RECOVERED
AND/OR CHANGED THEIR LIFESTYLE. WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED
THAT KEITH WOULD STILL BE ALIVE. WAS BRIANS ADDICTION ANY WORSE THEN KEITHS AT HIS WORST. I REMEMBER READING STORIES ABOUT HIM WRITHING ON THE FLOOR IN AGONY WITH ONLY MARLON
AND/OR NANNIES TO TAKE CARE OF HIM. THE SAD PART OF BRIANS DEATH IS WE DONT KNOW WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF HE HAD LIVED. MAYBE HE WOULD HAVE DIED ANYWAY. MAYBE HE WOULD
HAVE BEEN A PATHETIC MESS. BUT THE ACCOUNTS I READ SAID HE WAS TRYING TO GET HIMSELF TOGETHER AND CUT BACK ON THINGS.
MAYBE LIKE MANY OTHERS HE COULD HAVE GOT IT TOGETHER. REMEMBER HE WAS ONLY 26 WHEN HE DIED. I WAS STILL DRINKING AND DRUGGING LIKE A FISH AT THAT AGE. AS FAR AS HIS FAMILY GOES I WOULD THINK THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE TRUTH. IF HE WAS MURDERED- THEN MAYBE THEY COULD SHED SOME OF THIS- HE WAS SO PATHETIC- HYPE AND HAVE THEIR SON/
FATHER ETC LOOKED UPON IN A CLEARER LIGHT. SURE HE SEEMED
LIKE A BASTARD AT TIMES AND A LOST SOUL AT TIMES BUT SO DID KEEF-CLAPTON-MOON ETC. THERE ARE NO SAINTS ON THIS ROCK AND ROLL BUS. IT IS NOT JUST BRIAN JONES THAT DESERVES THIS TREATMENT BUT ANYONE WHO HAS DIED UNDER MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES AND THEN BEEN LABELLED A CERTAIN WAY BECAUSE THEY ARE DEAD. I VERY SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT MICK AND KEITH AND OTHER PEOPLE WOULD BE TALKING ABOUT HIM THE WAY THEY DO IF HE HAD SURVIVED.

GhostofBrianJones That is funny about the message in Caps. He is right. We don't have the right
no, we just want to find out what happened. It is not a right just a decade
long question.

How about going back to the casino conversation, seems much more
interesting.

while STP were labeled as a band that jumped on the bandwagon they were contemporaries of pearl jam relatively. phish wasn't that, they were of another generation and the only thing they shared with the dead outside a similar phan base, an outside lyricist and fondness for jamming was a lack of chart success. the dead however have made a huge contribution to the american music tapestry. their body of work is more substantial when you look at their career after a similar breadth of time. too make a real comparison for pearl jam one has to look to the bands that influenced and are held by them to be inspirational.
