November 7th, 2004 07:16 PM
Soldatti Live Licks debuted #38 in the UK albums chart with sales of 10,000 copies, great numbers for a live album. The album is #48 in the Combined chart (album+compilations) and this is the 40th Top 40 album for the Stones in UK. This week with the exception of Cliff Richards, the Stones are the artists with most longevity on the albums chart with 40 years and 7 months between April 1964 and November 2004.

gypsy I can't wait to see what josh has to say about this.
November 7th, 2004 07:22 PM
Monkey Woman Not bad! But jb will have trouble grasping it... He'll probably blame it on the Britons famous "hate of the Stones"!
November 7th, 2004 09:00 PM
Soldatti The album did much better than No Security, that's a good point.
November 7th, 2004 11:27 PM
gypsy Joshy will argue with that...and somehow he'll turn it all around and blame it on the French.
November 8th, 2004 03:37 PM
Monkey Woman Ha! At least we had enough sense to sell Louisiana while we could. Old Bonaparte should have asked for more, though.

10k units sold is a major embarrassment and reinforces the obvious hate and disdain the british have for this band....surprised it beat GITD's 900 copies..
November 8th, 2004 04:14 PM
gypsy Monkey Woman, you were right---it is the fault of the Britons.
November 8th, 2004 07:03 PM
egon but only because the french pushed them to it right?
November 8th, 2004 07:34 PM
gypsy Good one. But I'm sure joshy will come up with something even more illogical!

GITD sold MORE copies in the first week (12,200) but only reached #44 for the high season of sales, with that copies this week an album is #35 or something like that. The 900 copies was only the first day.
Live Licks is a little down on the chart for the high season of sales, the last week the #26 album in UK sold less than 10,000 copies...
November 9th, 2004 02:11 PM
Stones Soldatti, When will US chart information be out?
November 9th, 2004 08:30 PM
Soldatti The information it's almost out, preliminary numbers are 23,000 copies sold and #47 bow. Not impressive at all, No Security did a lot better. Tommorow Billboard will post the official information.

but Josh, YOU hate the Stones more than anyone I know...

"LL is fucking awful and the worst record theyve ever made"
"Keith is an embarrassment"
"Woody is a fucking wanker.." who "should have been terminated in 1981"

No. 38 in the UK - and No. 47 in the US...

Ner ner, ner ner ner. Up yours!

In February or August with 5,000 copies an album is #40, in November/December an album with 5,000 copies sold is #70 (look at Live Licks)
For example, GITD sold 12,000 copies the first week, in February or August with those sales an album is Top 20.
This is high season for albums sales...
November 15th, 2004 09:58 AM

yes...beyond dreadful.....It is unimaginable that any professional "editer" could allow the abortion on RO....the rest of the album is equally bad....the only songs I could even attempt to listen to were MM and SFM....
