CLIFF RICHARD PLANS NEW AMERICAN ASSAULT
British pop veteran SIR CLIFF RICHARD is launching another bid to break into the American music industry - even though he has just passed his 65th birthday.
The DEVIL WOMAN singer has enjoyed more time in the UK singles chart than any other artist or band - including ELVIS PRESLEY and THE BEATLES - but he has always struggled for recognition across the Atlantic.
Despite his advancing years, Richard still dreams of Stateside stardom and hopes to perform a selection of his newest songs at Joe's Pub in New York City during a showcase of 'new' talent regularly attended by record label executives.
His spokesperson BILL LATHAM says, "It has always niggled him that he has failed to make a success of things in America."
