GhostofBrianJones Hi Check out YouTube under The Rolling Stones in Milan 1967 for some
real spectacular footage of Brian, very rare. It is rather dark but it is really
interesting. Mick looks like he is on a treadmill. Brian looks like he is making
faces or something!! See what you guys think!
29th September 2007 09:55 PM
BriansBabe Yes Linda, itīs the same video Steve posted in part 10??
Brian acted so sweet on stage there, as he is trying to be hard and cool, but you can easily look through him...
and see the soft, sensitive, gentle soul...

GhostofBrianJones What does Brian have in that box? That is the clearest picture of that one I
have seen! I did not realize Steve had already posted that video. I saw it on
the LARS forum. I still cannot figure out what Brian is doing in that video,
it is so dark it looks like he is making faces or something.

I can't quite make out what is in the box? Someone please help out an old
person, thanks!

I'll say one thing for Suki she treated Brian really good, never used him or
made trouble for him. She was a good friend and stood by him a long time.

Hi Mathijs, very interesting thoughts!
I heard about that Mandarin thing too...
But that Latin is and was no spoken language is new to me.
Because in former times here in Germany the entire church services were held only in Latin. Every schoolboy was in those days an server and had to learn Latin...my Dad speaks
Latin today still very well...better then I speak English

During the days of the Roman Empire there were two different kinds of Latin: offical Latin, and Vulgar Latin.

Official Latin was used in formal occaisions: laws were presented in Latin, court cases were presented in Latin, religion was done in Latin, science was written down in Latin. The day-to-day language of the old Romans was Greek though.

Vulgar Latin was Latin that was evolved from official Latin to regional Latin, and futher evolved in Italian, Spanish and partial French.

Vulgar Latin does not exist anymore, but Official Latin is still used these days in the Catholic church and its services, and sometimes in science.

Nope, just two years of Latin in highschool. In The Netherlands, if you do "VWO" (highschool in preparation for Academic education) you are obliged to have English, French, German and Dutch during the first three years of highschool (highschool is six years in total). For the third year you can choose to add Latin and/or Greek. I added Latin, and later dropped French and German in favour of Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

For many Dutch people languages are a bit of a second nature because we're such a small country. Most Dutch people speak English and German as second language, and many even French and Spanish.
