Soldatti The last album of the Rolling Stones "Forty Licks" reached the 8 millions copies shipped worldwide by the end of October.
The album has sold 7.500,000 copies on this year, from October 2002 to October 2003.
On the current year the album has had shipments of 3.500,000 copies worldwide (4.500,000 on 2002).
This album debuted #2 on the US charts, spent 42 weeks on charts and was certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA.

Also I have some news of the Stones 60's Catalog: this week I posted a topic about the record of the band on the Billboard Top Pop Catalog with 4 titles on the Top 50.
Catalog albums are 2+ years-old titles or reissues of older albums. In that post I wrote "Singles Collection" at #50 but that info is wrong because that position was for "Metamorphosis". Amazing!
I got the first 3 weeks of the Stones on The Billboard Top Pop Catalog Albums. This info is paid and almost impossible to get but here is:

jb Notwithstanding the foregoing, are we still only #10 on best selling albums in the US? Is Aerosmith still ahead of us?
11-10-03 01:28 PM
scratched I'm surprised Metamorphosis is/was outselling 'proper' albums such as Aftermath, Between The Buttons and Ya-Ya's.
11-10-03 02:12 PM
Prodigal Son Well considering Metamorphisis had never been released on CD until now, it only makes sense. I even bought it, although it gets a mere **/five (C-) in my books, I still like a handful of tracks.

jb Why do you refuse to answer me Soldatti? Why?

jb Really sad....has this been updated soldatti...with the new certifications, are we going to catch Streisand? The reason we are so low is that unbelievably albums like BB, LIB, Exile and SF which should have sold tens of millions of copies, but for some reason that no one has ever satifactorily explained to me, only sold in the millions....Then again, 40 Licks, conaining all the popular hits has only sold a few million copies here in the US.
