11-08-03 06:20 PM
egon a friend of mine told me he read an article in a english newspaper about keef's biography.
according to him, they also printed some chapters of it.

anyone heard about this, cos i certainly haven't...?

Gazza the Daily Mail serialised it a couple of weeks ago..its called "Keith Richards - Satisfaction" and its by Christopher Sandford, who also wrote a bio of Mick several years ago. I think its been out since the start of this week

glencar The torch must be passed eventually. But it'll never be as fun for us.

Gazza >Really? Any good?

havent read or seen it yet. Going by Sandford's book on Jagger and by the excerpts I read, I'm not panting with excitement to read it....from what I read,it just looks like another cut and paste job repeating some of the myths and mistakes in other books

Of course, it will....maybe more fun. It always was...once the mourning period is over. The Stones "as we knew them" may be over...BUT... well stones is the stones. That NEVER ends....42 years doesn't end overnight....what an act!
11-08-03 07:39 PM
glencar I bought the Sandford book but never bothered reading it.
11-08-03 07:39 PM
glencar Nothing will as fun for me. The Stones are a connection to my youth.
11-08-03 08:00 PM
gypsy There's another Keith bio out this month too...it's titled "Keith Richards: Before They Make Me Run," by Kris Needs. You can order both bios on amazon.uk

11-08-03 08:05 PM
glencar Yes, they are. But whoever comes along will not bring me that connection.

No one ELSE is coming along...anyway Mick may end up in Las Vegas..,..and if its good enough for Sinatra its good enough for MIck.

Yeah thats what I need. I got thinking though. Maybe the Stones should BUY their own hotel in Las Vegas. Why not? no more on the road oldies act. Strictly come & see & pay. Secutity is tight. Stones take over Vegas. Elvis may have been onto something here.

11-08-03 08:44 PM
glencar It didn't quite work for Debbie Reynolds but Keith is much cooler. Yes, the Stones should do their own casino. In fact, they should hook up with Connecticut's Injuns & do one there!
11-08-03 08:59 PM
glencar The Guv was against it so that probably didn't help.

yes, that's what my friend saw. but is it really written TOGETHER with keef?
11-09-03 01:19 PM
Monkey Woman "No one else is coming along..." Mick in Las Vegas... Is the board succumbing to post-tour depression???
11-09-03 02:03 PM
SHINE A LIGHT let's cool it with the depressing stuff....it's bad enough when i read the news!!!!!!!
11-09-03 02:59 PM
Gazza >yes, that's what my friend saw. but is it really written TOGETHER with keef?

absolutely not. It was never suggested that it was. maybe your friend misinterpreted something!
11-09-03 07:49 PM
SHINE A LIGHT ok, people, here's the answer....the sanford thing is not worth the paper it's printed on AND not written with keef.
the other one..."before they make me run"...has a forward by keith. i've pre-ordered it and they tell me it will be shipped 2 dec.-4 dec.

I have an older (3-4 years) book by Chris Needs.
It's about his "adventures" with various rock stars. He had a drugy night out with Keith in a London hotelroom. That was his story.
Now it seems he decided to make a whole book out of it!
(btw did the same in 76. Should write a book . .)

SHINE A LIGHT oh gawd, say it ain't so????? well, i was in the mood for a keith book and the kris needs sounded like the better of the two ("better two evils, baby").
11-11-03 05:28 AM
egon gazza, i guess you are right.

other question; who has the new stones book?
(the big red thing with interviews with all 4)

i saw it at virgin in marseille. looked nice, but it was in french, so couldn't really read it.

is it worth buying?
11-11-03 09:06 AM
SHINE A LIGHT yes, i have the big red book...haven't read it yet, but it looks quite good. the best thing is that it is written BY THEM, so at least it's a collecter's item.
