When I was younger, I used to be very frightened of that song. The terrible thing was that it came directly after Dandelion, or was it She's like a rainbow, the two songs I loved the most (at the time) on 30 greatest hits. So I had to watch the LP player so that it didn't begun playing that scary song!!!
And I agree that Heaven is quite a creepy song, and Midnight Rambler (the original version) too. |

I can relate to that. I had the same thing happen to me with Sympathy for the Devil. I was about 9 years old when I got the Hot Rocks album and I remember being scared to death of that song. I had it on cassette and whenever I switched over to side 2 it would always start playing that song and I'd fastforward really quick to Honky Tonk Woman. All of those scary "WHOOHOOHOOO!"s and Mick singing about death and destruction and "as heads is tails just call me Lucifer!" and that samba beat. Spooky. |
