SheRat "Bloodhound Blues" by Victoria Spivey.

Well I poisoned my man, I put it in his drinkin’
Now I’m in jail, and I can’t keep from thinkin’
I poisoned my man, I put it in his drinkin’ cup
Well, it’s easy to go to jail
But lord did it send me up
Well I broke out of my cell, when the jailor turned his back
I broke out of my cell, when the jailor turned his back
But now I’m so sorry, bloodhounds are on my track

Bloodhounds, bloodhounds,
Bloodhounds are on my trail
Bloodhounds, bloodhounds,
Bloodhounds are on my trail
They wanna take me back to that cold, old, lonesome jail

Well I know I done wrong, but he kicked me and he blacked my eye
I done it in a passion, I thought it was the fashion
I know I done wrong, but he kicked me and he blacked my eye
And if the bloodhounds ever catch me, In a cold old jail I’ll die.

Nellcote The evolution of the band to the three hour plus level of live shows is captured on BYFO. That period was when I was more mobile, to be able to see them, thus my preference. Frankly, not a bad J Geils recording out there. Ladies is great, vastly underated. Chimes is especially primo.
Go to funkyjudge.net, he runs a great resource of J. Geils info...

caro Yess -- a new exquisite listening tastes thread just in time for my new super photo-video-mp3player-cellphone! My randomly assembled playlist for the moment:
Tracy Chapman -Bang Bang Bang
Bob Dylan - Don't think twice
Jane's Addiction - Jane says
Jethro Tull - Living in the past
Gotan Project - Queremos Paz (I tend to quickly get sick of Gotan Project, but had a blast hearing it on headphones)
Jimi Hendrix - The Wind cries Mary
Johnny Cash - Solitary Man
Snap - I've got the power
Morphine - I can tell that you taste like the sky cause you look like rain. You look like rain, you look like rain...
Renaud (local ex-anarchist singer with zero credibility but some sweet songs) - It is not because you are
Greg Brown - Sailing down my golden river
Sister Nancy - Bam Bam
Mano Negra (local heroes also) - Sally (she's got 3 lovers)
