Ian McLagan & the Bump Band
Austin's resident British rock superstar, known to all as Mac, keeps alive the legacy of his bands the Small Faces and the Faces with his Texas Bump Band. One of the recognized masters of the Hammond B-3 organ and electric piano, Ian McLagan has toured and recorded with the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Bragg, and all points inbetween. Ian McLagan & the Bump Band have released several albums that extend the legacy of his former bands without paling in comparison. McLagan's sixth and finest solo CD, "Spiritual Boy - an Appreciation of Ronnie Lane", is a loving tribute to his old friend and bandmate, and features songs written by this most-beloved musician. "Spiritual Boy" has achieved chart success in Mojo Magazine as well as glowing reviews in Rolling Stone, No Depression, Goldmine, and the Austin Chronicle. Mac and his mates will no doubt regale with the rollicking, seminal Brit-rock with which the Faces packed stadiums in the 1970s. |

Tempting. Will see how the finances hold (seems like there are gigs every single day for the rest of the month). How long does he usually play? |

Dan, you should definately go. He does wonderful renditions of some great Faces songs like You're So Rude, Cindy Incidentally, Debris, Glad & Sorry...
but pay at the door please. Poor Mac's a working man!
but keep on stickin it to the arena bands! |

Dan...when I saw him he did two sets..about 2hrs 15 min. No opener, no encores. He does a Meet & Greet after every gig. Signs stuff(you don't even have to buy anything...he'll sign whatever you bring), poses for pics, makes sure everyone goes away Glad & Happy. |

Not sure if the cash or energy will hold out but the last 2 shows, which I planned on paying for, I got in for free! And yes if I go I will pay at the door unless I accidentally stumble into someone with an extra plus one. |
