" That Qwest thing looks like it came straight out of the Jetson's Joey. "

" The concert was absolutely amazing. This was my third time seeing Paul and each time he tops himself. Last night at the Qwest Center here in Omaha, he was at his best. After he sang Eleanor Rigby, he stopped the show. Security had taken away the glow sticks from some fans in the front row and he didn't like that. He told the "big bad man" to give the fans back their glow sticks. He wouldn't start up again until they got them back. It was hilarious. The he told some fans in the upper bowl who also had glow sticks to watch out because security was going to bust them. I Love That Man.

The concert last night in Omaha was beyond awesome. I was a little worried in the beginning b/c the crowd was a little subdued especially in spite of him opening with Magical Mystery Tour. But I was delighted that that changed and at the end the crowd was so loud it hurt my ears, tha's a good thing. I saw him in Atlanta when he toured in 2002 and he only gets better with age. "Live and Let Die" was the highlight for me, among a list of highlights. I can't wait till he tours again, I will definitely be there.

Before the 8:00pm show I had my 2 little boys with me in the late afternoon. The Qwest Center is about 2 blocks from the Riverfront and there is a beautiful pedestrian bridge that looks down upon the arena. My boys and I were on that (trying to get a glipmse of *anything*) About 4:00pm I looked to the north and saw a string of shiny, black vehicles coming from the direction of the airport and knew that something was up. Sure enough, this impressive motorcade turned toward the arena and the police motorcyle that was escorting them was visible. After running further down the bridge, I could see a couple dozen people on the north side of the arena and kicked myself for not being down there! Sure enough, it was obvious to me that, as the motorcade passed those people, Paul lowered his window, because all of a sudden they were screamin! g, yelling and cheering. I was resigned to just seeing the vehicles enter the back of the arena, which they did. My two little boys were jumping up and down yelling Paul's name. After the last car was in the back arena door, wouldn't you know it? Paul stepped out of the doorway for a second and heard my two little boys who were still jumping and hollering. He looked up at them, waved and pumped his right fist up in the air in acknowledgement. Is that a cool dude, or what? The show was in line with all of the other accounts from the tour. The DJ, Freelance Hellraiser was actually very good. Though half the audience, who was older, didn't really appreciate his talents. Fortunately, there were plenty of highschool and college age people in our section and we, at least, were down with it. I was relieved to see that, in spite of some earlier reports, he was not lousy, but actually very good and he gave everyone a chance to get to their seats. Some of the songs he mixed were Venus & Mars, Temporary Secretary, Rinse the Raindrops, Coming Up & Live & Let Die. The video was good and for any novice macca fans, it brought them up to speed. The show was fantstic. It was not the emotional rollercoaster that the 2002/2003 tour was with Linda and George having just passed and the country still being in shock from 911-needing Paul's shoulder to weep on. This was a celebration of his music and, probably, the rocking-est lineup of songs that he has ever run with. It was truly a Rockshow . The Omaha crowd was loud with ovations lasting to lengths that seemed to take McCartney and his Band off gaurd as they often gave each other looks that seemed to indicate they were thinking, "Wow". Several people speculated that this could be Paul's final tour. My reply: "Rubbish". McCartney has said he has a whole other album's worth of material just waiting. Also, when he does finally retire from regular touring, I'm sure he'll say it publicly. Lastly, he seems to adress this question over and over with his final salute to his audiences: "See you next time!!!!!" Paul, thanks for sharing some of your magic with us in Omaha. And yes sir. If you can make it back, we WILL see you next time.

Amazing night! I danced; I sang; I cried and sometimes I just stood there in a trance. It was a Magical Night! I hope that when I get to be 63, I have 1/2 the energy Paul had!

Paul's show in Omaha was fantastic, as you usually get from him. I was lucky enough to be in the third row and had taken a t-shirt with me that said "Mind The Gap Mac!" and was holding it up for him several times. At the end of the first encore he acknowledged it and I yelled to him 'Do you want it?' and he said ' Yeah, sure' so I tossed it to him! He held it up and then waved it over his head as he walked off! Ha, yeah, even though I'm 47 years old, I was as giddy as a schoolgirl. The show rocked and it was great to hear I've Got a Feeling, Too Many People and Helter Skelter live. I thought Paul was a bit emotional after finishing Maybe I'm Amazed and also when he mentioned departed 'friends', John, George and Linda. It was great Paul, thanks so much for coming to Omaha. Can't wait to hear you sing When I'm 64 next year!!!

What an experience yesterday was. Today, as I ease back into real life after a sleepless night, it all seems like a dream. Did it really happen? I guess so, if my laryngitis and bruised hand are evidence (I have a bruise on my left ring finger from the knuckle halfway up my hand--all the clapping made my fingers swell and my ring became too tight, resulting in this bruise. Ouch. It'll be awhile before I can get a ring on.)

My concert day began when I arrived at the hotel across the street from the Arena. The first thing I saw when I got there was the tour truck with the huge tour logo parked in front of the Arena. That was when it hit me that this is real, it's really going to happen.

I got there about 1 pm. I dropped off belongs in my room, then settled in the lobby to watch what was happening. I was hoping I'd see the band guys and could maybe ask them to sign my program book. That didn't happen, but it was a kick to watch activity pick up all afternoon. About 2 pm, I started seeing tour personnel (ID'd by the badges they were) going back and forth between the arena and the hotel. One guy in particular was around often. I don't know his role, but when he was in the lobby, he was watching what was going on pretty closely, scanning the room with his eyes much like Secret Service personnel do, so maybe he was some sort of security guy. Shortly after 4:30, he was in the lobby, alone, as I was walking past, so I stopped and thanked him (i.e., the tour) for coming to Omaha. That began quite a lengthy conversation. That was fun. I saw him later, shortly after 6 pm, and he said "Hi---enjoy the show!"

How can I describe what last night was like for me? It's impossible. Not sure what to think of Freelance Hellraiser…..but I was fascinated by watching what he was doing. I was on his side of the stage and could see him spinning the vinyl. Quite amazing what he was doing putting like 3 songs together to interesting effect.

Then there was the movie, and I could tell when we were getting near the end of it, knowing that any second I'd be seeing Paul live for the first time in my life. I nearly broke down in tears, but all of a sudden, there were Paul and the guys doing Magical Mystery Tour, and I was singing and dancing and the intense emotion subsided. I sang and danced and cheered and clapped all night long. At one point, I was so drained, I didn't think I had anything left. I looked at my watch; it was 10:30. I knew the show would last about 45 more minutes. Wow. I don't know how they do it night after night. They work harder than the audience, and they keep energy up to the very end. It's amazing.

As, of course, was Paul. I truly though he looked and sounded as good today as he did 40 years ago. Perhaps better. His voice was awesome. How does he do it????? He truly is a rock god.

I had a great view 3 rows off the floor on the right side, about 15 feet from the stage. I couldn't believe I was singing the songs of my life with the man who wrote them. The night of a lifetime.

Paul was exactly as I expected him to be; I felt like I was with an old friend. The impression that I've developed about him over the years is that he appreciates and respects "his people" (as he calls us) and that if it were possible for him to do something personal for each and every one of us, he would. He proved that twice last night. The first time was the glowstick incident. After a song about half way through the concert, he looked stage right and said "Hey, security just took that girl's glowstick. What's wrong with a glowstick. Give it back." And he kept it up until the arena security person returned the glowstick. Prior to the show, my friend had started up her glowstick and it too was confiscated. We were sitting stage left. As soon as I heard Paul say "Give it back", I got out my glowstick. After the glowstick on stage right was returned, Paul turned and walked stage left. He pointed at me and said "Look, there's another one." So I got a nod from Paul when he noticed my glowstick. I didn't have a chance to show my signs though----it was too dark where I was sitting for them to be seen.

The second way that Paul gave a nod to his people was at the end of the show. Unlike other venues, people here didn't toss many things to the stage to be signed on stage Flowers, yes, but not stuff. So he walked across the front of the stage and solicited items from the audience to sign. He motioned to about a half dozen people to toss stuff up to him which he then signed and returned. What a gesture.

The night was totally awesome. I was so close to the stage that I could see the performance up close and personal, Because I was watching Paul, I missed the lighting effects. And I was too close to the speakers, so that the sound was distorted. I couldn't hear any of the background vocals. But no matter. I'll see it all and hear it all in the DVD and CD. I got what can't be captured on DVD--an up close view of Paul and the band as they put on the show of a lifetime. They were all amazing. I think the crowd was good---I think we made tons of noise. I know I did my part.

This morning/early afternoon, at the hotel, there were no tour people about. They must have cleared out after the show last night. Too bad. I was hoping for the opportunity to tell the tour person I talked to yesterday what an awesome time I had last night.

Odd thing….last night when I was singing and dancing and cheering, I didn't cry. Today though, as I was describing the experience to a friend, though, sort of broke down. Sort of sobbed for a minute or two as the magnitude of what happened last night hit me. I'm so sorry it's all over. It happened so quickly and now it seems so unreal. Last night it even seemed unreal I kept thinking "That's really him. He's right there." It was almost impossible to process. My respect for this man and what's he's contributed to my life was already boundless, but it grew even more last night. I thank Paul from the bottom of my heart for his talent, for who he is, and for how he's enriched my life for 42 years.

Now now, I'm off to try to get some sleep. I'm physically and emotionally exhausted, but what I lucky soul I am to have experienced last night. "

voodoopug In a turn back to the topic of the post. Josh just called me, his wife has been admitted into the hospital. This seems precautionary as they suspect food poisoning and dehydration. With her in her pregnant state, no risks will be taken. Josh thanked those who have left him messages, he said it was very comforting.

Has anybody here seen my old friend Joshy?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
You know, I just looked around and he's gone.

Anybody here seen my old friend John?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
I just looked around and he's gone.

Anybody here seen my old friend Martin?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
I just looked 'round and he's gone.

Didn't you love the things that they stood for?
Didn't they try to find some good for you and me?
And we'll be free
Some day soon, and it's a-gonna be one day ...

Anybody here seen my old friend Bobby?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
I thought I saw him walk up over the hill,
With Joshy, Martin and John.

He is doing well but very very exhausted from the stress of the last week.

Everyone is fine...and he wanted me to thank each and every one of you for your good thoughts and prayers. He is genuinely touched by the support he has received.

Some Guy Good to hear that jb is ok. I failed to meet him in Atl. this year, I did see SOL on VH1 today. I like that video!!

voodoopug Sadly, Mrs Jb was taken to the ER and spent the better part of the day there on Monday. Josh phoned me today and informed me that she is feeling much better, the kids returned to school, and they are trying to get their life back together. he appreciates the support from his true friends.

Sadly, Monster has went on a partial hunger strike and is only eating dog treats that are chopped and hand fed to him by jb.

Finally....and Sadly, jb has accidently created mustard gas with the combonation of pool shock, bleach, and chlorine he poured in his pool to prevent bacteria growth. without making this political, Jb's people have a poor history with mustard gas and josh was humiliated.

Where was jb's burned out, lushie pool "boy"??? (Pug..have you heard of this guy?) Although from what I've heard of him, he probably TOLD Josh what to do.

The ROCC needs to head to South Florida ASAP. Mission of mercy time.

Hang in there Josh....
