I remember as a kid watching the Stones on Ed Sullivan Variety Show on Sunday nights.(the few times they wereon). This was way back in the 60's.I saw an old repeat this week on PBS.What a hoot! They did Ruby Tuesday with Mick out front,Bill on a big bass fiddle,Brian on flute sitting next to Keith who was playing piano!.Charlie was bashing away looking bored to tears.I actually remember waiting as a kid to the very end to see them. The laugh is who came on before them. There was a guy balancing himself on a wooden log,the Muppets,a lame comedian Alan King and then just before the Stones...there were 40 nuns from Pittsburgh singing Kumbaya!!!What an opening act they would have blown AC/DC right off the stage!Funny thing is as soon as I saw the log roller I remembered the Stones were on that show. |

Alan King was good in 'Casino'.
So was Rickles.
And Joe Bob Briggs!
Plus a fine assortment of Stones tunes in it! |
