"Surf's Up"

( Brian Wilson/Van Dyke Parks )

" A diamond necklace played the pawn
Hand in hand some drummed along, oh
To a handsome man and baton
A blind class aristocracy
Back through the opera glass you see
The pit and the pendulum drawn
Columnated ruins domino

Canvass the town and brush the backdrop
Are you sleeping?

Hung velvet overtaken me
Dim chandelier awaken me
To a song dissolved in the dawn
The music hall a costly bow
The music all is lost for now
To a muted trumperter swan
Columnated ruins domino

Canvass the town and brush the backdrop
Are you sleeping, Brother John?

Dove nested towers the hour was
Strike the street quicksilver moon
Carriage across the fog
Two-Step to lamp lights cellar tune
The laughs come hard in Auld Lang Syne

The glass was raised, the fired rose
The fullness of the wine, the dim last toasting
While at port adieu or die

A choke of grief heart hardened I
Beyond belief a broken man too tough to cry

Surf's Up
Aboard a tidal wave
Come about hard and join
The young and often spring you gave
I heard the word
Wonderful thing
A children's song

Child, child, child, child, child
A child is the father of the man
Child, child, child, child, child
A child is the father of the man
A children's song
Have you listened as they played
Their song is love
And the children know the way
That's why the child is the father to the man
Child, child, child, child, child
Child, child, child, child, child
Na na na na na na na na
Child, child, child, child, child
That's why the child is the father to the man
Child, child, child, child, child ........."

" I've been in this town so long that back in the city
I've been taken for lost and gone
And unknown for a long long time

Fell in love years ago
With an innocent girl
From the Spanish and Indian home
Home of the heroes and villains

Once at night Catillian squared the fight
And she was right in the rain of the bullets that eventually brought her down
But she's still dancing in the night
Unafraid of what a dude'll do in a town full of heroes and villains

Heroes and villains
Just see what you've done

Heroes and villains
Just see what you've done

Stand or fall I know there
Shall be peace in the valley
And it's all an affair
Of my life with the heroes and villains

My children were raised
You know they suddenly rise
They started slow long ago
Head to toe healthy weathy and wise

I've been in this town so long
So long to the city
I'm fit with the stuff
To ride in the rough
And sunny down snuff I'm alright
By the heroes and

Heroes and villains
Just see what you've done

Heroes and villains
Just see what you've done ............."

" Rough boys
Don't walk away
I wanna buy you leather
Make noise
Try and talk me away
We can't be seen together
Tough kids
What can I do?
I'm so pale and weedy
Rough fits
In my Hush Puppy shoes
But I'm still pleadin

Tough boys
Running the streets
Come a little closer
Rough toys
Under the sheets
Nobody knows her
Rough boys
Don't walk away
I very nearly missed you
Tough boys
Come over here
I wanna bite and kiss you

I wanna see what I can find! "

" When people keep repeating
That you'll never fall in love
When everybody keeps retreating
But you can't seem to get enough

Let my love open the door
Let my love open the door
Let my love open the door
To your heart

When everything feels all over
When everybody seems unkind
I'll give you a four leaf clover
Take all the worry out of your mind

Let my love open the door
Let my love open the door
Let my love open the door
To your heart

I have the only key to your heart
I can stop you falling apart
Try today, you'll find this way
Come on and give me a chance to say
Let my love open the door
It's all I'm living for
Release yourself from misery
There's only one thing gonna set you free
That's my love

Let my love open the door
Let my love open the door
Let my love open the door
To your heart

When tragedy befalls you
Don't let it drag you down
Love can cure your problems
You're so lucky I'm around

Let my love open the door
Let my love open the door
Let my love open the door
To your heart .................."

I have had my braces off since 1982 . However , in the last couple of years , my teeth have slowly begun to shift back to their original form ( circa 1978 ) . Now , cosmetically speaking , this is of no great cause for concern . Yet , it does sometimes allow me to bite my lower lip thus fomenting canker sores -- the pain of which is nothing compared to the sharp , piercing , disabling pain that currently resides in my lower back . I also have a scorching case of Bell's Palsey , I.B.S. , Shy Bladder Syndrome , right kidney failure and I accidentally took over thirty tablets of Heminevrin this morning / afternoon .

gypsy After reading the post where jb took the fam to TGIF's, I was worried he was goin' all white trash on us.
Then I read the more recent posts...and I am relieved.
Hope your dental work goes well, jb. It will be worth it, as teeth are very important. joey's have all rotted out due to his continuous crank-smoking--which is apparently the only thing to do in Nebraska.

BLANK STARE

Are you sure that's Nebraska? I haven't seen him around much lately. Sounds more like Kansas...

wtf are you talking about ?

Jerry Hall was hot fuckin' tamales in her heyday, a bit flat chested maybe, but very gorgeous, glamerous, sensuous, and classy. Sure over the years age has caught up, she's still a very beautiful person for her age, but in her prime, compared to this to this L'Wren chick ? LOL -- L'Wren looks like she was shot outta Jack and the beanstalks dog's ass

Josh - you have to be kidding. It will lose 2/3 of it's value the minute you walk it out the door. Go the the local auction houses that sell off estates. Pick up vintage Baker or even better, antique, furniture for a fraction of the cost. After all you live in an area that rich folk go to die.
