gypsy While at my gay hairdresser's this evening, I had to listen to "Bread's Greatest Hits" in it's entirety.
I feel dirty...and I don't think a dozen showers will ever take this dirty feeling away.

Soldatti Excelent post Corgi, almost all is true.
The Live Licks thing will sell well, with a Top 20 prediction for both UK & US according to industry sources.
The sad thing here is this:
Between Jump Back and Forty Licks the Stones are selling more than 15,000 Cd's each week only in the States, Live Licks is a nostalgia album but the people will buy it and Start Me Up, Satisfaction or JJF are getting more Airplay on US that the Mick's new single.
The people from the MAIN MARKETS only want to hear or buy OLD Stones' songs, that's why we didn't get a new album in almost a decade.

Some Guy "Vertigo"

Unos, dos, tres, catorce
Turn it up loud, captain

Lights go down
It's dark, the jungle is
Your head can't rule your heart
A feeling so much stronger
Than a thought
Your eyes are wide
And though your soul
It can't be bought
Your mind can wander

Hello, hello
Hola
I'm at a place called Vertigo
Dond' esta
It's everything I wish I didn't know
Except you give me something I can feel
Feel

The night is full of holes
These bullets rip the sky
Of ink with gold
They twinkle
As the boys play rock and roll
They know that they can't dance
At least they know

I can't stand the beats
I'm asking for the check
Girl with crimson nails
Has Jesus 'round her neck
Swinging to the music
Swinging to the music

Hello, hello
Hola
I'm at a place called Vertigo
Dond' esta
It's everything I wish I didn't know
But you give me something I can feel
Feel

Shot dead
Shots fall
Show me, yeah

All of this, all of this can be yours
All of this, all of this can be yours
All of this, all of this can be yours
Just give me what I want
And no one gets hurt

Hello, hello
Hola
Were at a place called Vertigo
Dond' esta
Lights go down and all I know
Is that you give me something
I can feel your love teaching me how
Your love is teaching me how
How to kneel
Kneel

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Come To Joey ..................

" If - Bread "

" If a picture paints a thousand words
Then why can't I paint you?
The words will never show
The you I've come to know
If a face could launch a thousand ships
Then where am I to go?
There's no one home but you
You're all that's left me to
And when my love for life is running dry
You come and pour yourself on me

If a man could be two places at one time
I'd be with you
Tomorrow and today
Beside you all the way
If the world should stop revolving
Spinning slowly down to die
I'd spend the end with you
And when the world was through
Then one by one the stars would all go out
Then you and I would simply fly away "

Sir Stonesalot Gypsy...change your stylist.

Corgi,

I can't really argue with what you have said. In fact, I am probably even more cynical about it than you are. No one would love to see a return to form and power for the Stones than me. No one.

There is just one difference between me and you. I have accepted the fact that I can't do a damn thing about it. We don't have a say in it. Once I accepted things as being the way they are, and accepted the fact that it wasn't going to change, things became quite easy for me. All I have to do is enjoy whatever is offered. Sometimes you really have to look hard, but there is always something there to make me smile. I just roll with it.

No, I don't think the Rolling Stones owe me anything. They should. Mongo knows I've given them a lot of my leisure cash and time. But no, no they don't owe me. What I gave, I gave freely. No one made me do it, 'cept Mongo, God Of Rock n Roll. But I have received bang for my buck. I have a whole bookcase full of Stones CDs and Boots. I have a brain full of memories. And those songs...man, they pump through my viens just like blood. I don't even need to put on Let It Bleed to hear it...I can just play it in my head. That stuff is just part of me.

Midnight Rambler.

gypsy joey, I hate you. I had just got those damn tunes out of my head. I will NOT touch your monkey.

SS, I can't. He did my hair free as a favor to help me out during this unemployment crisis.

corgi37 SS - The healing process has already begun. Basically, i dont give a fuck anymore. I'm not going to cut out pictures or eagerly search out info on the band. I know enough. I dont need to know anymore. I doubt Live Licks will even be widely available here in Oz. Needless to say, there will be zero ad campaign.

I'm just gonna relax, and worry about my babies. Music means shit to me now anyway. I just enjoy playing Exile once a week and downloading some rare gems every now and then. I just finished a Alice Cooper compilation. And, there is always porn to look at. My other main interest is following the progress of Land of the Dead, and new zombie movie being filmed right now by the master himself, George A. Romero.

I am also having holidays soon and going to Honkers in Feb 2005. So, by the time all this stuff is out of the way, i'll just look up, and a new Stones cd will be out - or close to it.

No point me getting all hyped up about it. Life is too short. If they cant be fagged to make new shit, why should i be fagged to hassle them? Aint no one gonna listen, as you say.

Time to sit back and get my priorities in order.
1. Watching my babies grow.
2. Breaking my record how many times i can do the wife in one day.
3. Be a better person.
4. Learn how to bake a cake.
5. Smell the roses.
6. Perfecting my skills at taking sneaky upskirt and feet pics of unsuspecting girls on my phone & digital camera.

Life is good.
October 27th, 2004 12:58 AM
Sir Stonesalot Yes indeed Corgi, life is good.

Careful with that cake baking thing...if you get good at it, your wife will blame you for making her fat.

Take it from one who knows.

Some Guy How to Download Over 400 U2 Songs!

U2.Com, October 26, 2004

From the "Unbelievable But True Department": a Digital Boxed Set of "The Complete U2" is set for release through iTunes.

As part of the emerging partnership between U2, Apple and Universal Music, Apple has created the online music industry's first-of-its-kind "Digital Box Set."

"The Complete U2," will contain over 400 tracks including all of the band's albums and over 25 rare and unreleased tracks, including material from Hasta La Vista and Melon -- the two CDs previously only ever made available to subscribers to the official U2 magazine Propaganda.

Fans will be able to purchase and download "The Complete U2" with just one click on the iTunes Music Store in the U.S. and Europe beginning in late November for just $149 (U.S.).

The announcement was made this morning when Bono, Edge and Steve Jobs of Apple revealed the all-new "U2 iPod," set for release next month. (See our earlier story.)

More gobsmacking stories as we get them!

Some Guy Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own (5:05)
Lyrics by Bono, Produced by Chris Thomas, Additional production by Steve Lillywhite and Nellee Hooper, Keyboards and additional vocal by The Edge

Tough, you think youve got the stuff
Youre telling me and anyone
Youre hard enough

You dont have to put up a fight
You dont have to always be right
Let me take some of the punches
For you tonight

Listen to me now
I need to let you know
You dont have to go it alone

And its you when I look in the mirror
And its you when I dont pick up the phone
Sometimes you cant make it on your own

We fight all the time
You and I thats alright
Were the same soul
I dont need I dont need to hear you say
That if we werent so alike
Youd like me a whole lot more

Listen to me now
I need to let you know
You dont have to go it alone

And its you when I look in the mirror
And its you when I dont pick up the phone
Sometimes you cant make it on your own

I know that we dont talk
Im sick of it all
Can - you - hear - me when I -
Sing, youre the reason I sing
Youre the reason why the opera is in me

Where are we now?
Ive got to let you know
A house still doesnt make a home
Dont leave me here alone...

And its you when I look in the mirror
And its you that makes it hard to let go
Sometimes you cant make it on your own
Sometimes you cant make it
The best you can do is to fake it
Sometimes you cant make it on your own

Some Guy HOT! JOIN US - @U2 SWINGING TO THE MUSIC 2004
October 29, 2004
posted by: m2

Three Parties - Three Cities - One Night

You're invited to @U2 Swinging To The Music 2004, an evening of fun in Boston, Seattle, and St. Louis on the evening of November 21st -- just two days before the new U2 album is in stores in N. America. The common theme for each party can be summed up in one word: FUN! There'll be music, food, special guests, giveaways, and much more. Exact plans for each party will be slightly different, so we've set up individual pages for each city's event.

Any and all net proceeds from the three events will be donated to the African Well Fund, a charity created by fellow U2 fans to help bring the gift of water to Africa.

Please RSVP to let us know you're coming so we can make sure there's enough food, prizes, etc. The individual page for each party has a link to Evite.com, where you can RSVP.

We can't wait to see you on November 21st! Stay tuned for more updates as the plans expand....

gypsy SS is a wise man. My boyfriend is always baking me cookies and stuff...because we women are more prone to have a sweet tooth than men...so, I usually end up eating about 90% of the cookies (not including the dough--which is another girl thing that most guys don't understand either).
I do believe my boyfriend deliberately tries to tempt me with baked goods so that I'll get fat and won't leave him.

Some Guy The new album by the rock veterans U2 is called How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. An alternative could have been How to Kill the Compact Disc and Make Two Billion Dollars.

That may be what the Dublin quartet have achieved since Tuesday by signing an unprecedented joint marketing and licensing deal with Apple, the Silicon Valley firm behind the iTunes online music shop and the iPod digital music player.

Shares in Apple climbed vertiginously close to an all-time high yesterday after a week of excitement on Wall Street about the deal. That means Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. effectively added $2billion (1.1billion) to the stock market value of the company.

It also makes their online music deal by far the most lucrative signed by any rock band in history.

The deal will see Apple release a black, U2-branded edition of the iPod player and offer an exclusive 400-track "digital box set" of all the band's albums. The U2 iPod is expected to be released in Britain in the middle of next month. The new U2 album, meanwhile, will be in the shops on November 23.

Asked if the Apple deal meant the beginning of the end of the CD, Paul McGuinness, the band's manager, said: "Oh yes, but it's happening anyway. Having said that, the entire legal downloading business is still only 3 percent of the total. And the digital box set is only really available to those with broadband, or high-speed, internet. It'll be pretty pointless with dial-up."

There are fears, however, that the commercial venture could backfire on a group known for their Christian-inspired lyrics and outspoken views on everything from AIDS in Africa to Third World debt.

Some fans feel cheated that the band is getting so corporate. Apple's latest iPod advertising campaign, meanwhile, features U2 performing their new single, "Vertigo" - in what could be construed as the band's first commercial endorsement. The "Vertigo" video was broadcast exclusively for 24 hours on America Online's Music First View service. On the Slashdot website, one fan called the $349 U2 iPod "the most expensive U2 album yet."

U2's deal with Apple is yet another knee to the groin of the traditional music industry, which suffered a steep 7.1 percent decline in CD sales last year. The band's total CD sales, including such classics as The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby, stand at 120 million. According to Apple, more than 5.7 million iPods - critically lauded as the "Walkman of the 21st Century," despite battery lifespan problems have been sold since they were released in 2002. Although rival players have been released, Apple still has nearly two thirds of the market. Meanwhile, the launch of iTunes last year as the first legal music downloading website helped to double the value of online song sales to $270 million (147 million). Online sales are forecast to reach $9 billion (5 billion) by 2005. Rivals, including Bill Gates's Microsoft Corporation, have tried to take business away from Apple, but so far with limited success.

The black U2 iPod will come with a $50 (27) voucher for the digital box set, which will be sold via the iTunes service for $149 (81).

Mr. McGuinness said the deal was no different from any of U2's other promotional activities. "We've always done 'co-op' advertising, which means we share the cost of advertising with music retailers, be it iTunes or Tower Records," he said yesterday. "Apple didn't pay us to be in the Vertigo ad. It would be a lot different if we were selling Coca-Cola. As for the black U2 iPod, it can be seen as just another piece of U2 merchandise." He added that the money made by the iPod would not be going to charity.

Mr. McGuiness said: "That's something we wouldn't discuss anyway."
