I advise getting on an early flight and going home, gambling while angry will destroy at least one person from this or Shidoobee's board....mark my words!
Also, in all group settings from here on out....Please get seperate tabs. |

Man, this happens just a little too often.
Always, it seems, before a "big" show. London, Beacon etc.
I guess European fans can take solace that US shows can get cancelled as well.
Condolences to all the fans left high and dry. |

Thanks for the condolences. The party will go on.
We are about to depart for the AC Bar & Grill.
I felt so sad for our European friends when this
happened over the summer. Now I really know how
it feels.

Tonight's Rolling Stones show in A.C. postponed
Mick Jagger has a sore throat and tonight's Rolling Stones concert at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall has been canceled.
According to a release, Jagger will rest on doctor's advice.
The concert was rescheduled for Nov. 17. All tickets from the original show will be honored. To give satisfaction to Stones fans, the nearby Pier at Caesars is doing an impromptu Stones-themed party in its common areas and clubs. Stones impersonators can be seen walking around in the new shopping-dining center.

Wouldn't it be great if Keith, Ronnie, and Charlie just went to some local place and played a few tunes for them?

Oh man....that is sooooooooo cheesey. I almost wish I'da drove down there today, just to take pics of that ridiculousness....
I almost called in sick today so I could head down there. I walked over to the phone like 5 or 6 times, but didn't pull the trigger. The funny thing was that I wasn't even gonna go to the show unless I scored one cheap out in front of the venue. I just was gonna go find Pdog and hang out with him.
But now I'm glad I didn't do that...I'm sure that the mood woulda been...dampened considerably.

Gutted for everyone. Pauly and Beast had travelled over from London for this show and also were hoping theyd get lucky with Beacon tickets as well. They were told a few days ago that theyd got Rattlesnake Inn VIP passes, so you can imagine how much of an extra disappointment THAT is, considering they miss out on not only the Beacon because they werent allowed to buy tickets, the AC show because of the cancellation but also the possibility of meeting the band.
A real sickener for so many people for whom this may well have been their final show.

Christ, that's a fucking tough break for the guys from London. Here's to hoping they make it into the Beacon.
Pauly, Beast, Mr Jimmy and the Palm Trees (with the assistance of a few bottles of Veuve Cliquot) take the news of the cancellation surprisingly well!

With the AC show now scheduled for 11/17 and the Dodger Stadium show on 11/18, it looks as if the LA show will be postponed.
Or even cancelled????? |

My guess is that they'll postpone it for 24 hours until the 19th - which is a Sunday and would cause inconvenience to as few people as possible |

If there is any consolation to be had it's that Taj Mahal is playing in AC tonight. I'd say it's a safe bet that Keith and Ronnie may show up for his gig. I mean they are in AC right? The Stones are, right? If'n I were in AC I'd be scoring a Taj ticket right about now.

Unfortunatly it falls on a Friday night and I will not be able to get the night off the air. We are in the midst of a ratings period, and it's station policy that no full-time jocks can take a night off for a personel day. My program director was cool enough to give me a day off for the Giants show, but to ask him for another Stones' night is prolly pushing it. I'm gonna see if there is any chance, but I'm not that hopeful.

You know I always try and see the glass as half full Meg. So,with that in mind,I'd look at the AC Incident on a positive note of,while they may not have gotten a Stones show at least they may get a great Taj show with a couple of the Stones playing. Plus, they stil get a great summit. So,at the end of the day, this may still be better than the Chicago summit. I mean the Chicago summit was a major success, but let's face it,the show was awful.
See? It's great to be in AC tonight! Unless,of course, you're jb on a bus full of geeks!

Just got back home...after about 3 hours on the road, around 4:30, my pops got the news and we had to head back, Friday night rush hour, rainy conditions and all. BUT I am thankful, and I feel for those who travelled from much further away and may not even be able to see the make-up show, which I'll be even more pumped to see. |
