About 5 minutes before the show started they showed a video tape of U2 apologizing for not being able to appear.

The pre-show hostess mentioned something about a
"scheduling conflict".

Still hard to figure though, as they were just down Route 95
in Baltimore on Friday.

Cardinal Ximinez I missed the pre show stuff. I was watching my beloved Nittany Lions get their first win this year....and Joepa tie The Bear.

I switched over just as Bowie was introduced.

Perfect timing.

Don't forget to tune in same time next year when Paterno
breaks the record.

Gazza One of the UK papers said today the reason for U2's non appearance was due to a domestic crisis for Bono - apparently the school in Dublin where two of his kids go to had an anthrax scare (On a Saturday? sounds a bit odd to say the least..)

On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board.
The hit counter of the ITW board had 1,127,645 hits when it was closed and the Coolboard didn't have hit counter but was on line only two months and a half.
