Moonisup I don't know Rotterdam well, I don't think it's a nice town, and besides that, I live 20 minutes from Amsterdam so I don't have to go there.

Angiegirl I'm here. What?
Good pubs? Any that doesn't sell that awful Heineken.

BTW, Egon, did I tell you the company I work for now is almost next to the Heineken joint in Zoeterwoude? It is.

We even have Heineken minitowels and also Heineken beer glasses in the cabinet, but they are being used daily to drink milk from during lunch break.

Except for me. I use the only non-logo longdrink glass in the house.

I'm already famous locally for my anti-Heineken sentiments and I've only been working there for 2 weeks now, I'm really proud they picked up on that this quickly.

Just thought you should know.

albert Hi there:

for Amsterdam: go to the Black and White cafe on het Leidsche plein.
Very nearby are Paradiso and de Melkweg for very good live music.

Also nice places are Bourbon Street cafe and/or Melou Melo

time is on my side I would recommend a place called Rookies. It's located in the Liedsplien area (forgive spelling). In fact that whole area is really great for pubs & restaurants and check it out everytime I'm in Amsterdam. It's a little ways down from DAM Square (I celebrated Y2K in Dam Square).
