rasputin56 The DVD is great! I've only watched about half of it but it is as good or better than most official, mass marketed dvd's that most bands put out. And they do this for every show? Excellent work.

Add to that, the profits go to charity, not the Who.

Green Tea It was only #37 today on Amazon with a little more than a week to go. Not looking to be a blockbuster.

ABB was in the top 5 at Amazon a week before it came out. It actually got to #1 on the Amazon chart.

If the United States of America decides to re-instate the draft look for Endless Wire to hit # 1 and every single date on the second leg of THE WHO Tour to completely sell out within minutes ( ....... No Papering needed ) .

Then why, may I ask, is Dylan's tour only playing 5,000-seat minor league stadiums while The Who are selling out hockey arenas like MSG and Boston Garden? And adding shows, too!?!?

because Dylan plays over 100 shows a year. Every year. And plays in out of the way places too.

You may notice that his current tour is playing large arenas in major cities. And its selling very well.

he's simply been commercially revitalised with a higher profile in recent years - an autobiography, the Scorsese film, ipod commercials, prime time TV interviews etc.

His two shows in SF and then the next show in Sacto @ an arena, are proof he is selling, and like Gazza said, he's touring every year. No one his age is playing this many shows, to this many people. Stones might make more money and do stadiums, but Dylan is probably playing to more people overall, just by sheer number of shows, and the price tag doesn't make him look greedy.
His show was fantastic in SF. I wish i had time to do both of them.

Pete Townshend Blows Off Howard Stern
Oct 26 3:39 PM US/Eastern

Howard Stern's radio guests expect him to air their dirty laundry and play along. Pete Townshend isn't one of them.
The legendary Who guitarist-songwriter ducked out of his scheduled interview on Stern's satellite radio show on Wednesday upon hearing Stern talk about a touchy subject for him _ his 2003 arrest in London on suspicion of possessing child pornography. Townshend was cleared of the charges.

Townshend, along with girlfriend Rachel Fuller and Who bandmate Roger Daltrey, was listening to Stern's New York-based broadcast as he waited in a London studio for his interview to begin. Co-host Robin Quivers brought up the "child pornography stuff" and Townshend's claims that he was abused as a child. "Oh yeah, we could ask him about that," Stern said. Townshend stormed out, leaving Daltrey and Fuller to talk to Stern.

During that conversation, Quivers said that Townshend would have walked out of the interview even "if we didn't bring that up. He's a real testy guy."

Daltrey weighed in on Townshend's behalf, accusing Stern of "sniffing dirty underpants."

"Can you imagine you're accused of this stuff and then you're found not guilty? If you had to defend yourself through this stuff? The wounds are so deep on the man, and it's just tragic because he's got so much to offer," he said.

Stern, who jokingly referred to Fuller as "Yoko" after it was mentioned that Fuller had co-written a song on the new Who album, wound up apologizing to Townshend.

"Tell Pete I am very sorry," he said. "We would have had a great interview with him. I really wish he'd reconsider this. We adore him."

The Who is in the midst of a 15-month concert tour all around the world, its largest ever. The band's first album in 24 years, "Endless Wire," is set for release at the end of this month.
