Late George Harrison to Be Honored
LONDON (AP) - George Harrison will be honored at a film ceremony next week for his work as a producer of independent movies.
The late Beatles guitarist, who died last year at 58, financed a string of low-budget hits. His contribution to the nation's movie industry will be remembered with a lifetime achievement award at the British Independent Film Awards in London on Oct. 30, officials said Thursday.
Movies financed by his company, Handmade Films, include "Life of Brian," "Time Bandits" and "Withnail and I."
This year's nominees for best British independent film are "Bend It Like Beckham," "Bloody Sunday," "The Lawless Heart," "Morvern Callar" and "Sweet Sixteen."

Well I think it's a nice thing for George to be honored. But I do have one question to ask, And I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes here, But why are so many Stones fans harboring such ill feelings towards the Fabs? |

Most Stones fans don't harbor such ill will toward the Beatles. Only a miniscule minority of musically muddled miscreants. |
