Nellcote Hey!

I heard the track "Warm Heart Pastry" for the 1st time this weekend, off this LP. It's a record by Mike Heron, 1/2 of the Incredible String Band, with a stellar A list of players, including Pete Townsend, Ronnie Lane, Jimmy Page, which came out in 1971. Anyone heard of this? Thanks!

PeerQueer Townsend was once great.

Now he's bald and fat with the clowd of child porn hanging over his shiny head.

Sad thing, that.

Joey " Townsend was once great."

" A love born once must soon be born again
A plain that died, leaving cinders to be fanned
By the wind and thrown flame
Flames like tongues impassioned in a moments burst.
Tell me my friend- why do you stand aloof from your own heart
The truth confronts you-the truth confronts you as the sea
Crushing with out detail
Impassioned and detached,
Killing with love and power in God's name.
People stop hurting people, People stop hurting people

Love conquers poses, love smashes stances, love crushes angels into black
So you, without question, know your first love is your last.
and you will never, you never, never, will never love again.

I always wished to walk with her into restaurants,(A clammy tale)
To be seen beside her at the public bar footrail
I always wanted to be matched with her
Yet her beauty was so different to mine
My "beauty" needs an understanding and a knowledge of what I am.
Hers is enough earned thru eons; for that is what true beauty is
Time's gift to perfect humility.

May I be matched with you again
I know the match is bad
But God help me
May I be matched with you again
I know the match is bad
But God help me
May I be matched with you again
I know the match is bad
But God help me
Without your match there is no flame

People stop hurting people
People stop hurting people
People stop hurting people
People stop hurting people .... ( fade to Steelie ) "

I agree! He is truly guilty only of using bad judgement, but the cloud hangs over him nevertheless. He has become a mere, albiet larger and balder, shadow of his once great former self.

If he is able to stage an actual comeback, it will be quite remarkable - remarkable because it is highly improbable.

Unlike the Stones, who still rock it hard baby. Hard!

Jizzy! Jizz,Jizz,Jizzy!!! For once we agree!! Imagine that. Are pigs flying where you're at too?

You are absolutly right on this subject.

I do find it fascinating how the press has absolutly no problem tearing down a celeb's reputation by splashing salacious half truths,or in this case, falsehoods all over the front page, but then relagate that same celeb's exhonoration to page A-37.

The claims about Pete were completely disproven yet many obviously have not gotten the news. I felt that he was innocent the second the charges came to light. Very rarely do all your friends and collegues immediatly jump to your defense unless they know your innocent. That's exactly what happened when this BS first came up. Everyone that knows Pete bent over backwards(pardon the pun)to rise to his defense. Most people that are guilty see their friends split like rats from a sinking ship. That never happened here.

He,no doubt, has some sexual issues. All you have to do is listen to The Who's back catalogue to know that. Pedephilia isn't one of them I would wager. Other than the possibilty that he was once abused. He has has claimed that in the past he was and just one listen to Tommy ought to be enough to convince anyone he's not lying.

Too bad he hasn't used the whole episode to get his creative juices flowing!

Pete's innocent!
The Who are done.

He's not great! BUT!!! He played with raw emotion and intensity. He's a great musician and artist b/c he wrote tons of fantastic songs...
Joe Satriani can play a guitar great, but it kills my ears and sends me puking up blood!
When I hear Who stuff or Pete's awesome Empty Glass album, Greatness is not something you practice, it's something inside you that gets unleashed!
Pete is great and Joe Satriani is horrible!

Voodoo Scrounge I agree with the Honky Tonk to an extent.

However, I dont think it was as cut and dried as that. If the police thought it was that simple, he would have done time.
There must have been some getout clause that Townshend had to get away with it scot free.

By the way. I cant stand his music and wouldnt listen to it if you paid me.

Yes, that's right, though he is on the sex offender’s register. So in my eyes, he's guilty. SURELY, if he'd convinced the authorities that it was PURELY research, he wouldn’t be on the register.

I think there is some legal loophole that says if you have been proven to visit the sites as Townshend was, you have to go on it.

Honky Tonk Man I deleted my posts because I didn't want to offend anyone. Some people here take peoples opinions very seriously and presume an attack on someone they admire is a personal attack on them. Also, I didn't want the board to get flooded with something, which is non-Stones related. My comments might of worked out okay, but believe me, there have been problems with other threads in the past!
