Nellcote Carlos Beltran, bat on shoulder, lets the season slip away...Hommmie, you gaht to swing da bat, man.
Cliff Floyd before him.
Suppan finally stepped up, pitched a bitch of a game.
Larussa trots out some no-name 1st time closer, who gets in a mini jam, then turns it up, old school.
NO twenty year celebration of beating the Red Sox...
Another imbedded Red Sox, "Pedro under the Mango tree" makes this possible!
Sadly, the juggernaut which is the Tigers will lay a major league ass whoppin on dem Birds.

Sir Stonesalot I'm wearing my "Muck the Fets" T-shirt today.

20th October 2006 09:51 AM

20th October 2006 10:00 AM

20th October 2006 10:01 AM
Nellcote At least he did not try to run from third....
Another in a long line of NL pitchers who cannot
ever compete in the AL
20th October 2006 10:04 AM

Nellcote Hey, Brian Jones.
Good luck to you.
Now win something! (see 2004 Birds, 2001 Rams)
20th October 2006 10:07 AM
Route66 The point is moot, because neither team would hang with the Tigers!

Detroit is finishing the season in an almost identical fashion to the White Sox last year, and I don't believe any team in the NL right now is close to being as good as the AL teams.

jb Leyland and dembroski brought the Marlins their first title...however, I beleive the Cardinals may take it in 7.

A pathetic way for Beltran to go out. . . .I hope the NY press eats him alive for the next 5 months. 22 fucking men left on base yesterday. . .they had all the opportunity in the world to go up. It's a very sad day for me today!!

20th October 2006 02:41 PM
GhostofBrianJones YOU ALL CAN SAY WHATEVER YOU WANT, DA CARDINALS IS DA NUMBER ONE
TEAM!!

What are you saying about Gay Orgies? Is that something Detroit started?
Or maybe da Mets? Whad you talkin about son?! Tony LaRussa ain't no
Wussy Face!!

Don't ask me about the Rams, I don't keep up with them. Personally I like
Hockey and da Blues! But that is a lost cause.

All you freaky leakies out there are gonna eat astro turf when the Cards
get through with the Tigers!!
20th October 2006 02:48 PM
Sir Stonesalot I hope the Mets are so depressed that they all drown themselves in the East River.

voodoopug Detroit shall win this series in three! (no reason for the Mets to even show up in game four).

MVP: Nate Robertson

Least Valuable Decision by shaving off one of the country's best "Porn Mustache's": Jose Valentin

No reason for the Mets to show up for games 1-3 either. . .LOL!
20th October 2006 04:11 PM
glencar The Mets fans I've spoken to are not all that depressed about this loss as the Mets put up a good fight. I myself am a Yankees fans although I did root for the Mets after the Yankees were out. I'm now FIRMLY rooting for the Tigers as I've always despised the Cards & everything they've ever stood for.
20th October 2006 04:14 PM
pdog The Mets coach blew it, by not bunting the two lead off and game tying runs over with no out in the bottom of the 9th. Putting up Cliff Floyd, who is hurt was bad. If the mets hadn't been leaving guys on base all game, maybe this would've made sense.
Just my view... He was playing AL ball in a NL game 7... Stupid!
Is he fired yet? He is to The Mets what Dusty Baker was to The Giants!
20th October 2006 11:14 PM
Route66 I believe the AL would win the World Series whether it's Detroit, Oakland, the Yankees or Twins. The AL is simply the better league right now. The Mets at full strength during the season were the only NL team that was on a par with the top AL teams. St Louis certainly wasn't. I don't think it will be a sweep by any means, but I really do not believe St Louis has what it takes to beat any of the 4 AL teams that made the playoffs.
