Mr. D On the beach is one my fav's by Neil Young. One of his most underrated albums is "Comes a Time"...I love this record, without a doubt one my five favorite Young albums, along with Beach, Harvest, Goldrush, and Everybody Knows This is Knowwhere.

Released in 1981, Opera Star is probably the biggest/well-known/most-often-played-live track off the album. It's a short album. Only 8 tracks. Just became available to cd last year (might have been 2002?) for the first time. Others have higher priority, imo.

Get Ragged Glory first!

You'll enjoy Harvest Moon. Great album.

Southern Pacific is very nice. Aside from that, its one of his weakest. You'll need to be tied down to listen to "T-Bone"..

I stand corrected! Southern Pacific has been played 106 times (in 84, 85 and 99) while Opera Star has been performed 68 times (in 86, 87 and 01).

Motor City has even been performed more often - 70.

BTW, Gazza, Neil played T-Bone twice in his career. His birthday (12 November) 1990 and the following night.

This notes for you
Mirror Ball
Silver and Gold

I´m byuing these next:Ragged Glory,Freedom and Tonights the

Prodigal Son Out of that list, I would say, I rank it:
Mirrorball
Silver and Gold
Hawks and Doves
Life
This Notes for You
The final two are mediocre, the 3rd is decent and the 2nd is good while Mirrorball with Pearl Jam is an underrated gem.

You're in a frenzy, here.
Tonights The Nights is IMO Neil's masterpiece. Ragged Glory isnt far behind it (amazing guitar duels on it! You'll be playing air guitar so much you'll get arthritis in your fingers). "Freedom" is also excellent.

Silver & Gold isnt bad. "Razor love" is a gorgeous song and I also really like "Buffalo Springfield Again".

Of the others you mention, I think "This Notes For You" is the best. Neil goes r&b with a 5 piece horn section. An underrated gem. The others are all pretty decent - Hawks & Doves is quite a short album though. Mirror Ball has Pearl Jam as his backing band and is pretty good - its worth getting for "I'm The Ocean", which is probably the best song he's done in the last decade. "Life" is with Crazy Horse and, while a bit inconsistent, has a few nuggets on it.
