The band's onetime lead guitarist, Bruce Kulick was shot twice Thursday, as he exited a Vince Neil event at a West Hollywood nightclub at about 1:30 a.m.
One bullet grazed Kulick's head, while another made contact with his leather-clad leg.
The gunman had reportedly been arguing with several other patrons at the Rainbow Bar & Grill--none of them Kulick--before storming out of the club.
He returned on the scene with an automatic pistol and fired at random into a crowd of about 300, officials said.
Meanwhile, the rocker's assailant was wrestled to the ground by the crowd after his shooting spree, and sat in jail Thursday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
Kulick performed with KISS from 1984 to 1995. He exited the band after the original members reunited for a shock-rocker nostalgia tour in 1996--makeup and all.
These days, Kulick rocks on as part of Grand Funk Railroad. He's expected to take the stage with the band at a November 8 benefit gig on behalf of Safe Harbor Animal Rescue and Hospital--a no-kill animal shelter based in Jupiter, Florida.

Vince Neil Accused of Prostitute Abuse

(DAYTON, NV) -- Former Motley Crue singer Vince Neil has been charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly attacking a prostitute at a brothel last month, a prosecutor said.
Neil, 42, allegedly grabbed prostitute Andrea Terry by the throat on July 10 and threw her against a wall at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch just east of Carson City, according to the criminal complaint.
If convicted, the rocker could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. No date has been set yet for Neil's initial appearance in Dayton Justice Court.
Neil's lawyer, Robert Shapiro of Los Angeles, did not immediately return a phone call to his office Saturday.
Brothel owner Dennis Hof was out of town and also did not return a call.
But Hof had told the New York Daily News that Neil and Terry got into an argument because he didn't want to have sex with her.
Neil stopped by the brothel after a July 9 concert in Reno with the fellow 1980s metal bands Poison and Skid Row.
In April, Neil entered a no contest plea to misdemeanor battery in an assault involving record producer Michael Shuman outside a West Hollywood, Calif., nightclub last year.
In that case, a Superior Court judge ordered Neil to complete 100 hours of community service and pay restitution.

I actually like Vince Neil. I met him at an auto race back in the early 90s when he was actually holding his own racing in the Indy Lights racing series, which is/was one of the "minor league" series for Indy cars. He was always in the middle of the pack, but he was racing against people who had been racing since birth and therefore had much more experience. Knowing his legacy of debauchery, I was just impressed that Vince was able to sober up in the morning to drive 200 mph with 25 other cars on the track.
At the time, he had just "left" the Crue; he was kind and gracious to fans; and he even talked about his "new" solo band with Steve Stevens on guitar---LOL! How long did the Vince/Stevens band last? A month?
A nice guy nevertheless--unless you are a prostitute.

Fuck vince neil. What exactly is your point? Are you saying that since he lost a child, that makes it O.K. to kill somebody while driving drunk? Or that its justifiable to beat women?
