Mickjagger1963 Us younger fans should start our own club! lol

parmeda I came across this board totally by accident...I don't even remember what it was, that I was looking for. At first, I prowled around for a few weeks...I liked what I saw and joined. And I have to say, it was the C10, the administration and the many 'regular' posters that clinched it for me. I have never been so entertained...at their antics, their knowledge and their warm hearts. They truly are 'a different breed of cat' here...and you can't get any better than that.

So yes, I am quite pleased to have 'fallen' into this.

Mickjagger1963 Us younger fans should start our own club! lol - btw how old are you ?
10-21-02 09:19 PM
Child of the Moon I'm 18, my friend. I wanted to start my own club long ago, but that's how a lot fo that shit on Keno's board got started, if I recall correctly.

I'm a god in my own mind, y'know. Or something like it. Chief of the New Barbarians qualifies, I suppose.

I think us young 'uns are fine the way we are - a club in our own minds!

The invincible young generation! No matter how bad the music gets, no matter how apathetic we are, at least we're *rebellious*...

*sigh*...

It's always great to get the opinions from the old folks - if we learn from our pasts maybe we won't repeat their mistakes!

Like waking up the day after a Stones concert in a men's restroom in Denver in '72 with no money, no pants, an aching anal orifice, a note that says "Call us love MJ and DB", and a goofy smile on your face.

"Flower power was a load of crap, wasn't it?"

Dandelion* I got the link from Keno's. Used to check it out once in a blue moon to read the articles. Then The Great Circumcision Debate happened in Gasland. Knights in shining armor high tailed it over here flaunting their packages and pouting anti hippie slogans. Manly horrormones plum gone batty. Sheep ran scared.

I had to start reading this board more. And they had granted Miss U exile too. What more can you ask for since Mary Manning has gone into retirement? It's just good old fashioned fun!

It's too bad the boards can't have a merger or something and make surfing a little easier. It is sad to see the brain drain some times over at Keno's. It is an odd sort of soap opera viewing/participating. It's like the cast of Days of Our Lives also stars on Passions, and is the audience as well, and you can get any role you want (or one you may not know you play) if you're good/bad enough. We are all just a bunch of drama queens.

Sir Stonesalot I joined the cast at the Gasx3 board in '99 when I finally got on line.

See, me 'n FPM go WAY back. He had the internet before I did, and posted at Stonesworld. When that place melted down, he started posting at Gasx3. So when I got on line, that's where I started to post.

Dandy has it sort of wrong, but not completely. I had a falling out with the guy who runs Gasx3. The great circumcision debate was just a catalyst for my move to this board...not the real reason. I won't go into that anymore. It's ancient history, and it just doesn't matter.

So after that drama, I came here as "Cardinal Ximinez". I went back to my old "Sir Stonesalot" handle at the suggestion of Maxy. It is a pretty good handle.

Having met our illustrious leaders in NYC, I know we are all in good hands here. This is my cyberhome, filled with my cyber-brothers and sisters. Some of you don't even qualify as "cyber" anymore, since we actually have met in actual life. That would make us real friends...and THAT is the best part about these boards.

Lazy Bones Like many still here, I was with Goin' Home and came here when the Holy Trinity started Rocks Off.
10-22-02 09:42 AM
luxury1 Typed in rolling stones as a keyword as soon as I got on-line in '99 (finally--hey, I'm a stay-at-home mom for christ's sake). FOund Doug's board first, and then this one. Rocks Off is so entertaining, and it has been so great to meet in person--I had everybody pegged correctly, I might add--lotsa personality on this site!! And the administrators do such a bang-up job with current info, and an appropriate edit here and there. I am now addicted.
10-22-02 11:24 AM
sirmoonie My boy Scott started that circumscision debate! He's truly sorry about all the ruckus he caused, but you guys should see him now. He's very proud of his little circumsized wee wee. When he's in the bathtub, he plays with it all the time. And then he smiles.
10-22-02 11:25 AM
nankerphelge Don't we all....
10-22-02 11:30 AM
Sir Stonesalot Hey!

Take that bathroom masturbation talk to a porn board!

You very well may offend someone!
10-22-02 11:41 AM
nankerphelge Nope -- they were'nt offended at the porn board at all. In fact, they wanted more details....

Maxlugar It all started for me the night that I installed AOL on my first home PC.

I'm pretty sure it was fall '96. Possibly '95. I can probably check with AOL.

I searched "The Rolling Stones" as soon as I signed in and wound up at Stonesworld. Does anyone remember the little Mick or Keith welcome you could choose?

There I found lots of people just like me. I had no idea anyone in the whole world liked them as much as me. And I really never thought anyone knew more than me about them. I was wrong. I fell in love with that board and all the people. I fell in love with the band all over again too. At that time I had one bootleg (Hyde Park). I learned there was so much more out there. Little did I know that there would be three more tours (and counting) to come! And oh but the fights we had! My oh my they were glorious! Never did I think I would ever meet up with some people and strike real friendships.

Then Stonesworld took a dive and I went to Exile from Stones world. Does anyone know what ever happend to that girl Factory Girl? She was not the same one we know today. She made t-shirts for us all at MSG '98.

Then Keno opened his place and it was great but he inexplicably became anti-circumcision. I don't hang at places like that so I came here.

And here I live.

And so things like this:

MmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMaxy!
10-22-02 01:11 PM
nankerphelge The '95 or '96 thing is bothering me -- I can't remember exactly when either. I know you (Max) were already there when I first found it.
10-22-02 01:14 PM
steel driving hammer Keith is " Anti-Circumcision " ain't he?

I am not...
10-22-02 01:27 PM
Joey " Keith is " Anti-Circumcision " ain't he?

I am not... "

Nah , too easy !!!!!!!!!!!

It was March 6th , 1999 when I began a Stonesian Conversation with some individual who was propped up at the bar of an Irish Pub called the " Brazen Head " . He told me there was a " character " named MaxLugar who really and truly loved the " Dirty Work " album .

The rest , as they say , is history my friends .

Maxlugar You are the message board equivalent of a cover band.

YES!

Right out O' the ball park!!!!

ROCK IT!
10-22-02 03:16 PM
steel driving hammer True Story/Dream.

I had my first dream about Cardinal Fang.
Or as I call him, Carbo Bang!

Him and I were going to see a Stones show in some big city
and we both shared a hotel room. As I was getting ready, he
said he'l go down in the lobby to make sure we have a cab.
While I was getting ready I looked in his toilitry bag and
noticed some make up/mascarra. So I put some on and went
down stairs to go see the Stones and Cardinal Fang said, go
back up stairs and wash your face. Then I said but I found
this in your bag, he said it's not his, it's his girlfriends.

Not a big crazy wacko dream but I had it.

10-22-02 03:19 PM
sirmoonie Allright. Lets do this in an orderly fashion.

C10ers get the rest of the afternoon. Anyone with over 200 posts can take tomorrow morning. The rest of you have tomorrow afternoon.
10-22-02 03:27 PM
steel driving hammer But I got work to do now Monnie!

I gotta pretend my mind is on my customers and not on the Stones.

Oh how I contribute to society (sp) LOL!
10-22-02 03:35 PM
sirmoonie So they call those guys "customers" now, huh?

FPM C10 Dandelion spake: "Then The Great Circumcision Debate happened in Gasland."

Didn't you get the memo? The "Great Circumcision Debate" and the hegira thereafter is now known as "The Circum Schism".

I came here fairly frequently long before the Schism, and recognized it as a place as cool and neighborly as Keno's GasX3 Board, which I still count as my first Stones home. AFTER the Schism it seemed like everybody was taking sides and I couldn't figure out who's fighting and a whut for (especially the latter) so I DIDN'T post for awhile to stay the hell out of it. Then I found out that I couldn't fit "Fleabit Peanut Monkey" in the name slot so I stayed away more. But none of those reasons seemed serious enough for me to stay outside the clubhouse with my nose pressed against the window.

I'm here because my friends are here. I'm at GasX3 because most of them are there, too. I'm at both of these places because the Stones exist.

What was the question?
10-22-02 04:52 PM
stonedinaustralia "Then The Great Circumcision Debate happened in Gasland."

What were the major points of contention?

And how was it that a discussion over a surgical procedure could cause such ructions on a message board dedicated to the Rolling Stones?

Just curious

To trim or not to trim? That was the question. Strangely, I think the answer turned out to be not if its bush.

Oh yeah, I won the debate. As usual.

You can't tell by reading many of the posts????? Hehehehe.
10-22-02 05:34 PM
stonedinaustralia well i know what circumcision is - sirmoonie mentioned bush - was there a political angle to it all or religious overtones perhaps?

i still don't get it, what was the big deal that got every one into such a huff??

but from your plain responses i sense you may not want to really go into it all again and that's fair enough

cheers to you both

I don't want to touch this one with a ten foot bargepole, circumcised or not! Hehehehe.....

Actually - only some boyz therapists know the reason answers...
10-22-02 05:54 PM
stonedinaustralia thanks dandy -i'm beginning to see a picture and it's not pretty

and we'll leave it at that

sirmoonie Dandelion cracks me up.

SIA - It was right after 9/11 and that had everyone on edge. I don't remember most of The GCD, because except for some classic humor bits, which that surely wasn't, my board memory usually only goes back 2 or 3 months. Looking back, I think everyone was being pretty nutty including myself, but I can't really remember exactly about what. Except the post where everything went wingo for awhile! Man, that had everything! Steelie's first gay post, George Bush, C10 bashing, Steelie bashing, Jews and anti-semites, cleaning diapers, hippies, the military, and, of course, the "capper" -- my son's circumsized penis.

You might be able to find it in the archives at Keno's. Read at your own peril.
