We can only hope!!!! How is El Paso doing? Texas is not a big Stones State...they embarrassed us in 97 with only 47k for texas Motor Speedway festival.

Nellcote Austin Stones will outdraw Packers-Dolphins.
Tack on a Donna Shalala chaser.
Talk about humiliation, JB, call your therapist!!!

Yes....
As far as UM, simply the most dominat program in the last 25 yrs...many schools have had far worse incidents. As faer as the Phins, we have been in a downward spiral since they forced Shula out...I remeber a Hank Goldberg saying we would regret that day, and we have....

Goldberg makes bold predictions.

I've seen him a few times in the Garden Terrace Room at Belmont. Dude likes the ponies.

voodoodrew jb,

The TMS show was a mistake to begin with -- had to drive 30 minutes away just to get beer. Shows in dry counties are never fun or a good idea.

From the beginning, it was not planned well. On one level, they were trying to make it a Stones concert. On another, they were trying to reproduce the success of the rockfest festival atmosphere from the previous summer, advertising that DMB, The Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox 20 would be playing in addition to the Stones. The marketing was never clear and the concert was overpriced for the time period.

TMS is a terrible concert venue. The way the Stones were set up, probably 35% of the audience had to watch the show from behind a chain link fence. The average Dallas area fan knew this and did not make the drive up there to not drink all day and have a poor view. Also, the Smashing Pumpkins came on just before the Stones, ruining the moods of the few who weren't already pissed off about their seats. Was a shame as just 3 years before, the Stones played to a nearly sold out Cotton Bowl in the pouring rain.

true, it was an awkward set up -
with half the crowd so far away from the center ....
but the sound really was great.
this is the first time i heard them play crazy mama on the small stage and it sounded just like the record.
