Gazza Elvis is the obvious choice. The fucker could sing anything.

I could never stand Janis Joplin's voice, personally. I know its full of passion and pain to many, but its like nails on a blackboard to me and always has been.

Most underrated rock n roll singer - Levon Helm

Vocal chords like that only come down the pike about once every thousand years. They say his vocal range was about as good as it gets. I wish I could find the info on the web about that.

LMAO. i know, pretty bizarre. she's gone and done a pop rock album. (and YIKES) i will admit i like her song, "crazy chick". generally speaking, i don't care for her genre of music. that said, i also can't deny her stunning voice. her range is amazing. plus the list of female rock vocalists is pretty slim.
