72Tele These cold and or rainy shows have to be hell on Keith. Who the hell schedules shows outside in North and Northeast of North America in the fall of the year. There is a reason all the old people around where I live go to Florida for the next six months. The thing that concerns me the most is the quote of Keith from his set in Regina the other night, "I really shouldn't be here". If Keith says that something is wrong. I think the greed of STONES Inc. may have really come back to hurt them this time. I hope I am wrong.

You have a point there, and I'm sure that despite Keith's claims that his fingers don't hurt him, I'm sure all this rain and cold can't do him good.

However, I'd be surprised if after more than 40 years of a career they don't have the ability to say "no" or plan their tour they way they want it. And we can't possibly be sure of what Keith meant by that "I really shouldn't be here" comment.

True - but the buck stops with the Stones. If their guarantee wasnt so huge and ridiculous, they could at least be playing these shows indoors. Plenty of potential arena dates on this tour have been non starters because theyve scared off potential promoters and decided to take a risk on playing stadiums and relying on Cohl to paper the slower selling ones. Playing outdoors in the autumn or winter is a considerable risk to performers for whom its important not to get ill. Theyve had to postpone a few shows over the last few years because Mick has got more prone to colds and flu - and with the health of the other members of the band often being delicate, this isnt getting any easier.

REGINA -- They're nice guys, but a lot smaller than you'd think.

That's the observation of many of the people who had a chance to get up close and personal with the Rolling Stones during their three-day stay in the Queen City.

"They were small," said Dave Hardichuk, who had a chance to meet the Stones briefl y over the weekend. "I'm not a big guy, but you expect them to be larger than life and, really, they're just people." Where the Stones were, and what they would be doing, was the topic of much speculation in the days leading up to the band's Regina visit. Many of the rumours -- including that the Stones would be going bowling or fl ying home to England on Saturday -- seem to have proved false. Despite many who believed the band would be at Gordon Lightfoot's concert at Casino Regina on Saturday, the Canadian crooner performed without a Stone in sight.

But there were plenty of unplanned appearances, including Mick Jagger, with his young son in tow, taking in the new exhibit at the MacKenzie Art Gallery on Saturday evening.

"It was pretty neat," said security guard Aaron Walker.

"He was a lot smaller in real life than I expected him to be." Walker said the gallery got a call shortly before close on Saturday from someone with a British accent.

A short time later, a limousine pulled up to the gallery and a "big, British security-type guy" came in asking if Jagger and his son could tour the gallery after hours.

Walker said they were especially interested in a new exhibit, Situation Comedy: Humour in Recent Art, and spent about 30 minutes looking at the exhibit before gallery staff snuck them out a security door. Walker says he and the other employees were given Rolling Stones guitar picks for their trouble.

"He's just a real nice guy," said Walker. "It must be hard to get out and do something normal, like take your kid to an art gallery. That was the thing that stuck out most in my mind." While most Rolling Stones fans had to admire the iconic rockers from afar during the weekend, a select few had a chance to party with members of the band in person on Saturday night.

A band representative scouted for party guests at some Regina bars after the Stones concert on Friday night, asking girls to come to a private, after-hours party -- and bring two of their prettiest friends.

Guests were given hot pink wristbands, and then contacted the next day with the location of the top-secret, invitation-only affair.

Jennifer Robinson, who went to the party with two co-workers from the Barley Mill Brew Pub, said her friends didn't take the invite seriously at fi rst, thinking it wasn't real.

But after getting a call from the man again on Saturday night, the girls decided to leave the wedding they were at to gamble on the mysterious party in the old casino area of the Queensbury Downs.

They arrived to fi nd about 100 partiers, both women and men, with music playing, premium liquor fl owing freely at an open bar and Mick Jagger cutting it up on the dance fl oor.

"I was freaking out," Robinson said. "And, let me tell you, he can dance. He was just having a super good time." The 22-year-old says there was a lot of security, absolutely no pictures allowed and an understanding that "you don't approach Mick Jagger, he approaches you." Robinson called the party "the neatest thing I've ever done in my entire life." Marcia Maximiuk said she too will remember the party -- and the whole weekend -- for the rest of her life.

"Not many people can say they're 22 years old and have partied with Mick Jagger," she said.

Saint Sway Mick, Ronnie & Charlie look great. Fit. Sharply dressed. Rested. Healthy. Happy.

Keith looks terrible. Like an old bag lady.

If I saw him, I would offer to help him cross the street. Give him change and tell him not to spend it on hooch.

luxury1 Yeah,--who else in the band would be interested in "hiring" pretty young things for a party? There is something a bit creepy and sad about it all.....I wish the press wouldnt feel compelled to print EVERYTHING--I miss the mystique

I think Keith looks fabulous in that photo! He's always looked like "Keith," which is way different than the other guys in the band. It's one of the many things I like about him. If he started looking all nattily dressed like Mick, then I think I'd start to worry.

gnomie I attended the Friday show and it was just an awesome night along with the full moon. Never been to a show before but for me it was the greatest show. I had the best view of the whole stage even with being in the nose bleed seats. Just the thought of them playing all over the world and for one weekend they were in Regina Sask doing 2 shows. There is no other band around today that could put on a show like they did and have been doing for 40 some years. An evening I will never forget!

First time poster here, but I have to say, that having grown up in a city three hours away from Regina, there isn't much news to talk about in a city like that. The Stones were news for months there, and, as fantastic as they are, that wouldn't be the case in a lot of places.

I did go there for the "original" show, and since I'd never seen them before, I have to say I was happy to hear every song I really hoped to hear, and I definitely hope to have the chance to see them again. Mick did mention about the "frozen fingers" a couple times during the show, and I did wonder why they planned those outdoor shows, however the weather in this area of the country, as they found out, can go from quite pleasant to quite cold in a matter of 24 hours. It's life on the prairies in Canada.

If any of the Stones ever went to watch footie as lads in the old country, they'd have watched matches in colder temperatures, and I'm sure they'd have had the final say about any shows that happened, so they couldn't have protested very much.

Regardless, I'm definitely a fan of them, much moreso than before I saw them, and I just wish I was somewhat older, and somewhat richer.....So I could have seen them before now, and could see them again on this tour!
