Absolutely right. My ISP caps my upload speed at around 42KB/s. I'll be switching ISPs soon, but this has served me pretty well. Ya gotta work with what you have, ya know?

wellwell Hello all.

I missed the announce on this one. What is the story with this show? Why so late in the European tour, months after the last shows on the continent?

vox12string " If you have an upload speed of less than 128k, you probably shouldn't be on this or any other lossless tracker."

This would exclude most of us in Australia. Our monopoly telco (Telstra) has capped the max speed we can d/l to 1.5M, some independents are introducing ADSL2 but that is limited to the major cities & being within 5kms of an exchange.

I have 512/128 which gives me an up speed of 13k for which I pay $80/month australian, this is quite average. We look with envy & dismay @ what the rest of the world has, there are no current plans to upgrade our 'broadband' system & our government is inefectual in this matter.

I do my best by limiting my choices, getting on the torrent as soon as possible & staying on as long as I can, I try to keep a ratio of .5 but this means I miss out on a lot of stuff I want

We are stuck Down Under & there's FA we can do about it

How can one find out what their share ratio is?
Thanks!

On this tracker, there's no way that I'm aware of to know what your overall share ratio is. I guess you'd have to go by your bt client on each individual torrent.

tookthatname as far as the share ratio and speeds go, here in tijuana they have doubled our speed for free this month. now i can (theoretically) download at 250k and actual upload at 17k, capped to not take up more than 80%. This costs me about $100 US a month.

I guess I could again double this but that would cost me about $600 US a month.

Or I could change to a different ISP and have it microwaved from the US at $3000 US a month.

I work in the US so I can USUALLY (not always, been dropped more than once)afford the $100, but for most in this town the monthly gross income per capita is $45 US a month. I think many in major market high speed areas forget that there are parts of the world where fast internet and a lot of other things aren't quite the same.

One thing that is the same is peoples love of music.

One other thing that needs to be looked at is peoples other contributions to the stones community as a whole, not just there share ratio's on this tracker. I admit my ratio is low. But if you look at total contributions this tour, I would say most of the tour I put at least 40 hours a week into making the community better (one of my posts has 8430 views). yeah mostly on shidoobee, but it sent a LOT of traffic over here to the tracker. If everyone just did the same thing for the stones community it would be a very small amount done.

Howdy, I made some coverwork for Lakeland 1978,
because I wasn't too happy about the version online.
It's backcover, inside of backcover, and 2 sides of the frontcover as 2 files, paste them together to get it right.

Thank you Erik!
Really great artwork!

^Giants Stadium 9/27/06 (alternate source)

The Gillette show was recorded from the 12th row Ronnie's side. The recorder was a microtrak 24/96 with DPA4061 mics. The show was recorded in 24/96.

I had some trouble with the recorder. First not realizing the hold switch had been activated (tight quarters) and then the recorder's 2GB limit per file, but what I did manage to record came out pretty good. There's crowd noise which can't be helped I'm afraid. You will hear a drunk woman in parts, the "I Love You Mick Jagger" woman. The mics were placed at my ears so it sounds pretty good thru headphones. The sound was extremely bass heavy and I did my best to clean it up using adobe audition. I think you will be able to EQ to your liking, watching the bass and boosting the treble. When setting playback levels start at song #2 as I started with the levels a bit low on PIB.

I'm hoping you enjoy the recording. Let's hope someone got the whole show. I will post an mp3 of MR once I get home.
