speedfreakjive Interesting about Moonlight Mile. I never thought much of it until this week. But now i'm starting to think its really beautiful song, great bit at the end, a middle 8? then back into the chorus. An odd way to end this album though, i think.

Is anyone out there of the opinion that Sticky Fingers is as good, if not better than Exile? The general concensus seems to be that Exile is better, but why? When you consider the overall quality and consistency of each song on SF, there's no filler like Shake Your Hips and Stop Breaking Down, and its recorded in better quality. And IMO there's more Stones classics on it (Bitch, Sway, Dead Flowers). Just cos its shorter, it don't mean its not as good. I'll probs get slated for this, but f**k it!

P.S, it contains The Stones' 2nd best tune, Brown Sugar

Contentious: yes.

However, you also might be right. In my 20 years plus of Stonesfandom, when asked what my favorite it, it's always one of the five from Beggars to Exile. Right now, if someone asked I'd say Sticky Fingers. It's just so...perfect! Exile is what it is, a classic in every way, but there are some weak moments and weaker songs (I won't dare name them), whereas Sticky Fingers has no such moments. It's simply a masterpiece.

To all you sticklers out there, I know there are four (not five) albums from Beggars to Exile. Just a typo. Save your outrage.
