Boogie-Woogie hello everyone!

one question that i wanna know is on which guitar keith is playing slide on ?

is it a es335 gibson, a epiphone casino or the gibson es333(like the epiphone casino guitar)?

i love the sound of the slide work very much and the whole song is brilliant, but i dont know where to get more information about the sessions from beggars banquet.

hope you can help

GotToRollMe I think Brian played slide on this one (or a combination of Keith and Brian), but I'm sure someone will be able to tell you exactly which guitar it was.

GotToRollMe Yep, one of my all-time favorite Stones tunes. Wish they'd spring this one on us live (although I ain't complaining - I've been pleasantly surprised with the setlists lately).

Boogie-Woogie this song would never sound as good as on bb !!!

as far as i know keith played the whole slide guitar on jigsaw puzzle, brian only did it for no expectations.

but i wanna know if it was the gibson es333(a full hollowbody guitar like the epiphone casino).

Stray Cat UK I always assumed it was Brian on slide. Disc 8 of Satanic sessions documents the creation of the slide part perfectly.

I'm curious;how come you think it's Keith playing ?

HardKnoxDurtySox From the great Timeisonourside.com:

Probable line-up:

Drums: Charlie Watts
Bass: Keith Richards
Acoustic guitar: Keith Richards
Slide electric guitars: Brian Jones & Keith Richards
Vocal: Mick Jagger
Piano: Nicky Hopkins
Mellotron: Brian Jones
Synthesizer: Bill Wyman

and...

Brian wasn't really involved on Beggars Banquet, apart from some slide on No Expectations; that was the only thing he played on the whole record. He wasn't turning up to the sessions and he wasn't very well. In fact we didn't want him to turn up, I don't think.

Actually, Brian is present in 8 songs, doing backing vocals, playing slide, mellotron, tambourine and harmonica.

Boogie-Woogie i read that it was keith who played slide on jigsaw puzzle.
i always thought it was brian also, but he did the slide on no expectations only i guess.i think we never really get to know the truth ;-)

Stray Cat UK I doubt we will get the truth from Keith. He has a "selective" memory on these matters.

No, Brian is on 5 tracks of BB: tambura on SFM, harmonica on Prodigal Son and Parachute Women, slide on No Expectations and Mellotron on the fade out of Stray Cat.

It's Keith on slide guitar on Jigsaw, not Brian.

corgi37 Yet another track where Bill was not deemed good enough to play bass.
