Soldatti I was listening Exile today, I can't put Soul Sirvivor out of my mind still...
October 14th, 2004 10:16 PM
corgi37 You got the same affliction i have. I havent been able to shake Soul Survivor for about 3 months now. I am obessed with it. And, up until then, i never thought much of it.

I have an Exile night about once a week now in my garage. Casino Boogie is now implanting into my mind, like a termite bores into wood.
October 15th, 2004 07:36 PM
Soldatti Casino Boogie was on my mind some months ago, I spent days with Mick and Keith's vocals on my head.
October 15th, 2004 08:55 PM
Mr. D I get that way with "Exhile" all the time....each time I listen to it, I have a new favorite song on the album. Every one on there is perfect....and to think that a couple years ago I thought that album was too long...what a stupid, stupid child i was.
October 15th, 2004 09:11 PM
Some Guy Dude, put it on shuffle- that is the shit right there!!
October 15th, 2004 09:20 PM

Bloozehound tumbling dice

what is it about this song that's so damned awesome

I admit I didn't discover this song until much later in my Stones-fandom career, but since then it's gone on to be one of my, if not the THE, all time favorite Stones tune-a-ma-jiggy

Bloozehound weird thing is, I think the album that song is featured on is just a tad overrated

Why ?

I knew he's wasn't a big fan of Exile, but I didn't know he was particular about TD.
October 16th, 2004 11:13 PM
sirmoonie TD is best thing the Stones ever did. All the great attributes of the key members of the Rolling Stones rolled into one perfectly developed song.

You guys have heard the predecessor Good Time Women, I hope.
October 16th, 2004 11:28 PM
gypsy I remember sirmoonie telling me recently that he liked Linda Ronstadt's version of TD far better than the Stones'.
Oops! Was I not supposed to tell anyone?

From Rollingstone, "Jagger's remember" interview on 1995:

Who wrote "Tumbling Dice"?
- [Laughs] Keith and me. I wrote the lyrics.

And he did the groove?
- Yeah. It comes back to that thing where I really don't remember who had the melody or not, but it doesn't really matter.

Why does that beat grab you so quick?
- I don't really know what people like about it. I don't think it's our best stuff. I don't think it has good lyrics. But people seem to really like it, so good for them.

Madafaka Hum... Is a great tune!
October 18th, 2004 11:26 AM
glencar I gota chance to see "Torn & Frayed" performed during the Palais Royale show & it was sublime. I don't know if it would have worked in arenas(certainly not in stadiums!) but it's too bad it wasn't done in some more of the club shows.
