montana In My Opinion

Saint Sway some instances require "IMO". Some dont.

statements that are factual - like "The Stones are the fuckin best" or "Charlie Watts is God" - dont require an "IMO". Cuz everyone knows they are absolute facts.

but statements that are debateable do. Such as - "Mick is straight" or "Woody's guitar was plugged into an amp on the Bridges T Babylon Tour" - should have an "IMO" at the end of the statement

hope that clears things up

it just means you're stating your own personal opinion.
Sometimes you'll see "IMHO" which is "In My Humble Opinion".
That's for the polite amongst us - so not too many people use it

glencar Aren't there websites for these internet anagrams?
October 13th, 2004 08:17 PM
Angiegirl I use IMO sometimes, although all my personal opinions are factual, as I'm always right. I just use it in a lame attempt to avoid getting flamed: some people can't stand the fact that I'm always right. I'm so humble. We all have to bear our crosses.

I wonder how many times Bush and Old Spice are gonna use IMO (let alone IMHO) in the next debate in an hour, LMAO, ROTFL!!

Bloozehound old spice ?
October 13th, 2004 08:19 PM

Bloozehound lol i haven't heard that one before, but i like it
October 13th, 2004 08:21 PM
glencar LOL Thanks. And of course, anagrams wasn't the term I should have used. Acronyms is correct.

Possibly., and true (for both).

But this is what I meant: kerry (wel actually it's kerrie) is our Dutch word for what you call curry. Curry is a spice. I associated this with Old Spice, coz he's old. And corny. They're both Old Spice come to think of it, this debate's gonna stink!
October 13th, 2004 08:24 PM
glencar The debate alst Friday was actually pretty good. Both scored points with me. Do you get them replayed on Dutch TV?
October 13th, 2004 08:25 PM
Angiegirl Nope, live and direct, although with a 2-minute delay for instant subtitling. But I can watch on CNN as well, or BBC or 7 other language stations. It's 3 am here, dunno if I'm gonna pull thru to the end, but I'm gonna try. They both scored some points for me too the last debate, so who knows?

It's quite funny actually, the Dutch channel too has some presenters and specialists in the studio, live, for pre- and post-debate comments. They look really pale and scruffy being in the studio in the middle of the night, and when I switch to CNN they're all so clean and rested .

Bloozehound ya think Old Spice is gonna whoop Bush tonight on the domestic issues

glencar I've seen some Euro debates on CSPAN. The CNN presenters are relatively scruffy compared to the broadcast network superstars.
October 13th, 2004 08:30 PM
glencar Bloozy, I think Kerry will win this debate easily. It won't affect my vote but it could swing the election.
October 13th, 2004 08:41 PM
Angiegirl Nope, I think Bush's gonna win the election, despite the polls and 'outcomes' of the so-called 'debates' (they of course don't even come close to the actual meaning of a debate). If Bush wins, it will be his last 4 years right? I mean, a president can be one for 8 years max isn't that right, it's in your constitution I think?

glencar It's 10 years max, angie. You could succeed a dead Prez & if there are less than 2 years remaining in his term then you could run for two more full terms.

Angiegirl O, cool, I never knew that, thanx. Well, maybe my teacher did tell me that in our social studies when we handled the subject of the USA's election-structure, but there you go. Anyway, RO gets me more educated .
