But I can see through all of Georgies' lies now. I am not blinded by my emotions any longer. I know where Saddam and Osama are hiding...they are hiding with Saddam's WMDs in a desert mirage.
Bush Jr used the unspeakable tragedy of 9/11 as an excuse to invade a soveriegn nation for no good reason other than a distraction from a failing economy. I am a veteran of the US Army. I do not take kindly to having my brothers and sisters in arms killed for no good reason.
Patriot Act....a misnomer if ever there was one. I guess Ashcroft's definition of a Patriot is "people who blindly follow the Bush administration and don't mind suspension of personal freedoms." I always thought a Patriot was someone who defends the Constitution. All of the Constitution. Not just the parts that fit the Bush Junta's platform.
I have not read the 9/11 posts on Tell Me. I don't care what those people think. Neither should any of you. I have always said, and I will continue to say, that the only important opinion is your own. So some Europeans don't like us...big fuckin' deal. Sometimes I don't like us either. It doesn't matter. But squawking about how stupid and ugly and sick they are does nothing constructive either. It just makes us look stupid and ugly and sick too.

really funny how a tread on the new DVD can evolve so easily into 9/11 and related subjects. To make myself clear (and I will not continue to be involved in these endless discussions): I fully agrea with Sir Stonesalot, but I have to add that I am agaons the foreign politics of the Bush administartion and NOT agains the American people in general. I do feel that the US foreign politics spread anarchy over the world, and this makes me affraid of the future a bit.

SS, I don't support Bush on any of his social agenda, but I believe in my heart the the actions he took in Afghanistan were 100% appropriate. I also feel that regardless of WMD in Iraq, in time, Iraq will be a better placw without Saddam. I also think we have bigger problems to come with Iran and N. Korea...Indeed, we could face a potential nuclear strike from the lunatic in N. Korea b/c we let them develop WMD....I think you should re-evaluate you change of heart...the rules changed after 9/11...you may be right that Bush usd the WMD as a false pretext to invade Iraq, but I truly feel that the ends justify the means in this case.... |

I did say America deserved it, and then I did apologise for the use of the word "deserve", but I do think that it is very simple: america has put itself in a situation that it will be hit back. Simple, if I hit you in the face, I must expect you will hit me back. It may surprise some on this board who live outside the USA...but, frankly, the majority of us Americans couldn't give a rats ass if the rest of the world likes us or not. Who gives a flying fuck if the French like us, for Christ's sake, after all, they're French! How many French died this summer? 10,000? How pathetic is that? That's more then died in Iraq.
We DON'T CARE if Muslim's like us. They're still in the stone age...literally. Didn't they just stone to death a woman for adultery last week? Absolutely pathetic. Twenty-two Muslim countries and not a Democracy among them. Dictators and tyrants and kings and fiefdoms. Fuck 'em.
So here's the deal. Hit us and we change a regime. And with relatively little collateral damage. So far we've changed two. Who's next? We could just nuke the fuck out of our enemies, but we're nice guys.
You see, in the USA the trains run on time. And stuff works. Bottom line, we in America have it fucking made in the shade. And we're way too busy working, earning good money, and having a ball then to even think twice about if someone "likes us" or not.
