Topic: Left Shoe Shuffle ' vs ' Right Shoe Muffle Return to archive

steel driving hammer Folks this is a hard one.

Thats why I picked Stones addicts - to try to figure this one out.

I say it's Right Shoe Muffle.

Because you can't have the Left, w/out the right, and Right sounds better comming after the Left in the song, because Mick starts w/ the left, but we know that the right will soon follow along w/ that great rythem grove beat in the song. So, knowing Mick chooses to sing Left first, we know this song is good and then we get that combination w/ the Right. I think the Right makes the song complete.

Child of the Moon Thta's actually a fairly insightful question...

Without the Left Shoe Shuffle, would you even HAVE the Right Shoe Muffle? It's all a bit "chicken or the egg," isn't it?

Being right-handed myself, I'm tempted to say I may also be right-footed, and therefore would prefer the Right Shoe Muffle. But is that really putting my best foot forward? Does being left-wing make me instead prefer the Left Shoe Shuffle? And what if we switched them - then what would be better? The Left Shoe MUFFLE, or the Right Shoe SHUFFLE?

Eh, they're only sinking in the sand, anyway.

I'm left handed, but only bat right handed, and don't ride a board goofy foot either... I can't even bat left handed, but I can throw a ball pretty well with my right hand... In other words, I beleive I am the living embodiment of the lyric...
