Jeep Few seconds with Brian on a rare video from march 1966.
It was at Marseilles airport.
Brian wasn't very happy apparently...

And a pix shot same day during the second show in Marseilles (the show with the piece of wood on Jagger face...)

GhostofBrianJones Thanks, that is really interesting! He does look like he is tired, disgusted or
whatever. If anyone is able to translate the French into English please do.

Now I am trying to remember when Mick had that piece of wood on his face?
Does not come to me now.

Thanks again.

LOVE YOU S&K!!

Hi! Sophia! And greetings to all BJ fans here on this thread!!

GhostofBrianJones This is probably a dumb question, but because the picture of it is not clear,
or I just don't recognize what it is, what kind of pipe is he smoking, is that
an opium pipe or what kind of pipe is it? Does someone know?

Thanks S&K LOVE YA!!

Hi Linda,Sophia

love ya both

GhostofBrianJones Hi again! That last picture is really cool. Who is the guy second from the
left? Don't recognize him.

The header is unusual to to say the least. It looks like he had a cigarette
lighter too close to his chin and his one arm outstretched or something.
Maybe he is trying to present an eerie picture for some reason. It looks like
it is in one of the books I ordered. Maybe it explains it.

Thanks S&K!!

Love You S&K

Love to You too Sophia!

Let's keep going! I can't wait until I get the books I ordered.

Bon-Bon When did Brian say that? "Don't cry over anyone that won't cry over you?" Hmmm ...
Great pics - God, hard to believe the guy really ever existed anymore - it's been so damned long ago!

Bon-Bon So Brian didn't say it? Stuart Henry said it? Or Brian said it to Stuart Henry? lol!
20th September 2006 04:01 PM
GhostofBrianJones Sounds like Brian said it, am I right?

Yes it was a very long time ago when Brian passed. For some people anyone
alive or deceased can make an impact in their lives. For me it was finding that
Brian was MURDERED and did not die from the stated "Death by Misadventure"
as indicated on the Death Certificate. What Tony Sanchez said in his book
somehow never rang true with me in my own opinion. It just bothered me
really bad all these years and I never could shake it. We want to remember
Brian when he was here, and the contributions he made on the Stones's
early music. Yes he was an addict and whatever, but he deserves any and
all recognition during that time. Just like any other famous person whether
they were musicians, singers, actors, celebrities and the like.

I am very grateful the rest of the Stones are alive, healthy, happy and touring.

I still remember the day I heard Brian died. Have a newspaper clipping of it stuck in my "Beatles" scrapbook. I put pictures of him all over my room as a shrine.

ComeAsYouAre Was Brian able to write music, in your opinion? All of the Stones said he couldn't. I keep hearing that without Brian Jones there would be NO Stones, which is true. BUT, without Keith and Mick's writing ability, they would've faded away.
20th September 2006 06:39 PM
GhostofBrianJones It has been hard for me to figure out if Brian had songwriting abilities or not.
I think back then Andrew Oldham decided the songs were to be written by
Mick and Keith. He could have had the ability if maybe someone had sat
down with him and helped him develop his songwriting abilities at least
let him contribute to the songs they were writing. According to what I have
read he seemed to have a tendency to make the lyrics too long in each
stanza. Apparently songs are sort of like some poetry, each line as to fit
the bar of music created for the song. This can be frustrating for any songwriter. Some folks have the knack and others need to be taught or
exposed to someone who does know how to write songs. I saw a show many,
many years ago where Paul Williams was showing someone how to write songs.
He explained how HE wrote songs, and I can still remember most of it. But I
can't write songs at all. He certainly was an excellent guitar player and a
talented musician who learned to play many instruments. But I guess we
may never really know if Brian could or not.

I like the story about where Keith gets the basic tune for Satisfaction going in
his head and before he goes to bed he puts it on tape. He must have fallen
asleep with the tape still playing cos there is supposedly about 45 minutes
of him SNORING!! I bet that was hilarious.

i dont know where its from but about 2 years ago a friend of mine, also a die hard fan of brian, quoted that to me in a letter. i never asked him where he has it from..but i will ask him within the next days when i have contact with him. i think it sounds like brian. there all of a sudden always appear phrases he said! weird but wonderful... it sometimes feels for me like hes still alive when i suddenly read something he said i didnt read before in my life.
