Soldatti Extract from Rolling Stone:

Three weeks in stores and Elvis Presley's 30 #1 Hits remains the best-selling album in the country. The King's collection of repackaged classics sold 205,000 copies, according to SoundScan, to push it's sales past 1 million copies.
And E has had some formidable competition. Last week 30 #1 Hits held off the Rolling Stones' own collection, Forty Licks (which fell to Number Three with sales of 147,000 this week), and this week it topped Bon Jovi's Bounce, which still moved 160,000 copies to jump in at Number Two. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers latest, The Last DJ, was the only other Top Ten newcomer, selling 74,000 copies at Number Nine.

Canoe Article:

A big, bouncy debut by Bon Jovi didn't stop Elvis and The Stones from occupying the top two spots again on the Canadian album charts.

Bon Jovi's latest album "Bounce" entered the charts in third on sales of 18,800, well behind Elvis Presley's "Elvis: 30 No. 1 Hits" (38,200) which remained in the No. 1 position.

The Rolling Stones' "Forty Licks" (24,800) held steady in second.

Diana Krall's "Live In Paris" (15,500), Avril Lavigne's "Let Go" (13,400) and the compilation "Now!7" (9,100) all slipped one spot to fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

Eminem's "The Eminem Show" (8,600) jumped two positions from ninth to seventh, Xzibit's latest album "Man vs. Machine" (8,100) debuted in eighth, Nelly's "Nellyville" (7,600) rose one spot to ninth and pop/classical artist Josh Groban's debut album "Josh Groban" leaped from No. 32 to No. 10.

Other notable debuts included Mark Knopfler's "Ragpicker's Dream" at No. 18, Keith Urban's "Golden Road" at No. 20, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' "The Last DJ" at No. 25, Jurassic 5's "Power In Numbers" at No. 31 and Jennifer Love Hewitt's "Bare Naked" at No. 45.

In The U.S., "Elvis: 30 No. 1 Hits" stayed on top on sales of 205,300, "Bounce" (159,700) debuted in second and "Forty Licks" (146,600) dropped to third. Avril Lavigne (112,200) climbed two spots to fourth and Nelly (100,900) rounded out the top five.

America Total Sales:

USA: 458.000 copies
Canada: 60.000 copies (Gold)

The numbers are impresive for me. And one month ago some people said what the album will be a failure...

jb It must sell 500,000 copies in U.S. to reach gold and one million for platinum...I also do not agree that b/c it is a double disc, that 500,000=1million...I would like to see this documented.

At its current pace, there is no way in hell that it won't sell 500,000 at least...it's 90% of the way there already...it will sell well over a million copies in the coming weeks...it will do big numbers at Christmas and throughout the tour.....more like 2 million when all is said and done....btw, RIAA sales certifications are based on units SHIPPED, not the actual numbers SOLD....Soundscan measures units SOLD...the chart positions are based on Soundscan numbers of units SOLD...FORTY LICKS was shipped at least platinum, possibly double platinum...I do believe that RIAA counts a double album as two albums shipped, so the certification numbers will probably be double the Soundscan number of units sold
