they're really the yin and yang of the Stones spectrum, Brian a founding member who got the machine up and running, and Ron a band-aid that helped patch things up and keeps it rolling on to this day, neither of which either contributed much or was part of the big 4 golden era, BJ minimally on BB & LIB.
From a historical perspective, I'd go with Brian.

I think Elton is still bitching about getting torn away from the Stones piano in 72.
Oh and Brian, for being a founder member and having a greater impact. Ronnie is a legend as well though.

As far as personalities go, Ronnie wins that one.
But if you're talking about smackin' a bitch up, Brian takes the cake. |

Brian of course, but Ronnie was more important that Brian on keep the band together and his reward was that he enjoyed all the success of the Tours on this last 25-30 years. Other people that helped a lot more for the Stones legacy as Brian or Mick Taylor didn't have rewards or worse.

mickjaggersgrl I think it's great you (as a 15 year old) like Mick Jagger more than Justin Timberlake! |
