Lord (Hetero) Saw a lengthy interview with him about Exile with the interviewer really going for some real stories; pointed questions. But MT seems to have lost any sense of humor or excitement. Most boring dialogue ever.No wonder on his own his music tanked. That guy need someone needling him.

Taylor's strength is not as a songwriter; he himself has said he's far from prolific. What he needs is someone else's songs to make great, or greater.

I have to grab this opportunity and quote NELLCOTE from a year or two ago:

"Mick who????......Ah yes, the one that looks like Elizabeth Taylor...now I remember!!!"

Still the funniest thing I ever read on this board.....

The point is to start another pointless thread. Motels has never, ever seen MT perform live & yet he's got this Tiger Beat fascination with him. Pre-McDonald's era.

Maybe, but there's no truth in it.

My tennis game is picking up but I still need to work on the serve & the net game. Playing a piker like Motels is a cake walk.

What was wrong with that?! Does it stand on its own, particularly? Maybe not. But just imagine that lead guitar in the context of the Stones. You simply don't hear playing like that by Keith or Ronnie today; not even close.

I would. Have him and Ronnie swap guitar and bass, depending on the era of the song. It's a crackpipe dream of the, er, highest order. But if you discount the personality pitfalls of the idea, musically, I think it would work.

Nothing was wrong with it, it just wasn't impressive at all. Honestly, I don't understand the hype of Mick Taylor. The only thing that he ever somewhat impressed me with is his speed and fluidity. His playing isn't unique at all. It has no character, no style. Not even his tone stands out. If you would listen to an audio of Mick Taylor with a bunch of other average blues guitarist, I doubt you'd be able pick out which solo was done by Taylor. All the really great guitar players sound unique and have their own style. BB King has his vibrato and sustain, Chuck Berry has his double-stops, Hendrix had this great way of manipulating tones and effects, Jeff Beck and Santana use these different scales to bring out these great melodies, Keith has his catchy riffs and open-g tuning...etc. Taylor has one tone and one scale perfected, but that's really it.
