Topic: Stories Behind The Songs.... Return to archive

Marianne I figured it would be nice to start a thread so if anyone wants to know the story behind any Stones song, they can ask and maybe someone else that posts here knows it.

I want to know if there is a story behind the song 'Sway'. I just got really interested in the song the other day and wondered if there was anything behind it.

Let me know and post your own song questions!

CS From "Time is on Our Side"

Mick Taylor about "Sway"

"On Sway I used the Les Paul; Keith doesn't play on that track. Mick Jagger's playing rhythm guitar... (I played the slide part and the solo) at the same time. I put the slide on my little finger so it would still leave the other 3 fingers free to play like they would regularly, and I switched from one to the other. That was played in regular tuning."
