I think Mick's mental health is not good these days...Or he's using too many cocaine.
He sounds more euphoric than the usual...
Jogging and fitness, right!

Agreed. Only liberals and true conservatives have any reason to be bitter right now. And Smaller Bang - you might want to find an exact quote of what Mick said, it didn't come across as overtly partisan to me. However I am still waiting on my RNC talking points to make a final determination. |

God help you and all of those other poor dears who were evidently traumatised.
Will there be a benefit concert for the victims?
Can someone explain why this is supposed to be so outrageous?

Hey,watch it there big fella! Those two guys are the glimmer twins of the political world!!!
As for the quote about Meirs from Mick. I don't see the big deal here at all. Jagger was being topical in the town where the nomination went down. I think she was a shit choice myself. I think Bush should have put up a hardcore conservative just so we could finally get this big blowout over with. The dems are itching for a fight so just give it to them, and be done with it.

Riffhard,
this is a Stones board. People come here solely because we love the Stones and we love their music. We are getting very tired of you shoving your right wing conservative agenda down our throats. If you are going to continue to force feed us your Republican Nazi bullshit in every other thread than why dont you just go hang out at the Rush Limbaugh board. I'm sure theres plenty of like minded über conservatives like yourself there that you can babble on about this crap with.

Well, your clearly not speaking about yourself. The last thing you do here is discuss the Stones. You discuss some lousy Stones cover band called the Black Crowes. |

I remember and heard this quite well. Mick didn't dedicate the song to harriet miers. what he said was almost direct quote: "I understand Harriet Miers is with us in the audience. that s one way of getting appointed."
which whatever that means?? but he didn't DEDICATE
the song to her. geez. he always comments when somebody big is in the front rows.
also, did anyone notice the very large area in front of the stage for many many wheelchairs? there were like 50 wheelchairs up front. I watched several other people being wheeled in for the last 2 songs. so it wasn't just dignataries in the front rows. obv. |

Right wingers are hilarious at the best of times, but you Yank conservatives really take the cake. I just shake my head, laugh, and admire Anne Coulter when she's on Fox.
I'd do her, but i'd have to gag the cow. Man, she could talk under water!
And, just as an aside, what is it with rabid right wingers and "that" haircut? You know, the slick look with severe part. It's like some thing DEVO used to wear. Some of our old fogey pollies have it too, like Kevin Andrews. Tony Abbott and even Peter Costello.
Is it like a club thing? You know, get the blazer, the secret hand shake, and get your hair cut like a nerd.
And, isnt it funny how conservative people like the Stones? I mean, hey cool, but you, you shouldnt! You should be into red, white and blue country crap.
Of course, when abortion is repealed, XXX porn banned, "positive" movies only allowed from Hollywood (dont think it would happen? Remember the black lists of the 50's!!!), cctv monitors in every bedroom, ya'll come back into the light of us left leaning people. Imagine every U.S. state with laws like in Alabama forbidding oral sex between consenting adults. I mean, married adults. I mean, to each other.
And, i have worked out why you Yanks are a loveable, freaky bunch.
You dont allow drinking until you are 21. |

For the record, I think Ann Coulter is a lunatic...
But I really don't understand why its so suprising that right leaning people can like the Stones. Its music, guys.
Its art, its entertainment! The Stones are musical geniuses, but honestly, do any of you really look to Mick and the boys for your morality or politics?
As for your fears about the powers of a right leaning court, no one is going to go back to segregation (something instituted by Southern democrats, by the way), the country is nowhere near ready to ban all abortions, and XXX porn will never be banned. But conversely, the American people are not prepared to have a few left wing judges make law from the bench and tell them that 12 year olds can have abortions on demand, that gay marriage is constitutional, or that school childern should have access to pornography under the penumbra of first amendment freedom of speech rights. These issues should be decided by the American people, through elections and a legislative process, not a few left wing lawyers who seek to impose their vison of the world on the country. |
